设定了多重结局达3种以上（细分至少有7种），根据玩家的喜好演绎出不同个性的你，由于你的选择可以直接改变游戏其他角色，乃至BOSS的命运。故事流程中的事件达100多个，游戏中潜伏的人性在这里也有完美的体现，名利的诱惑、情缘的纠葛、朋友的忠义，孰轻孰重。
对故事发展路线的不同选择，也影响着主角的正邪值和情感值，从而决定不同的故事结局。并含有许多支线及隐藏情节，有待玩家亲自来寻找体验。
在玩法上，操作保留了在保留《剑2》操作简捷、即时战斗等方式的基础上，还以下几大创新：
计时系统：在限定时间内必须完成个别特殊任务，使得游戏更加紧张刺激。武功修炼系统：为玩家修炼武功、提高等级，嵌入了丰富的小游戏，既有娱乐性，又避免了进行繁琐单调的重复战斗。
武功具有针对性：不同的武功针对属性不一的敌人，伴随不同的攻击力、命中率等参数，一物降一物，相生相克。
武功学习条件：玩家再不能随便学习所有的武功，玩家的选择影响潜在的正邪倾向，从而也限制了其能 学习的武功种类。
装备的特殊攻击能力：有些隐藏的好装备带有不同的特殊攻击能力，如使敌人冰冻、中毒等。
战斗中，增加武功招式，道具之间相辅相克；不同的敌人有不同属性，千万小心对待，知己知彼，百战不殆。
