WT1 Wavetable Groovebox is a fast, hands-on groovebox built for instant music creation.
Inspired by modular synth layouts, WT1 presents everything on a single “sound easel” interface — no menus, no digging. Just direct control and immediate sonic feedback.
Create full ideas in seconds with three powerful synth engines:
Super Saw – wide, rich, stacked tones
Wavetable – evolving, textured movement
Vector – morph between sounds in real time
Each synth includes its own step sequencer for notes and amplitude, plus dedicated effects:
Reverb
Chorus
Delay
Everything runs in parallel, so you can build layered grooves quickly and intuitively.
Perfect for sketching ideas, generating textures, or just getting lost in sound design.
For less than the price of a coffee, WT1 is a compact playground for melodic experimentation.
Features
3 independent synth engines (Super Saw, Wavetable, Vector)
3 step sequencers (note + amplitude control)
3 effect chains (reverb, chorus, delay)
Scale locking for musical sequencing
6 LFOs for modulation and movement
Immediate, all-on-one-screen workflow
It’s loading off center on 11 inch iPad Pro. Makes it so you push wrong buttons (just wiped out a patch while trying to hit save button but it thought I was pressing load).Almost there, just need to see what’s going on with the UI
More than I'd expected

I've quite enjoyed this series of groovebox apps from Designbypaul - much more than I thought I would. They're surprisingly fun, and useful beyond mere novelty. This one has already made its way into a recent track, and I am sure it will make an appearance in future sessions. The focus on a single DSP/synthesis paradigm is great for eliminating the bloat / menu diving of so many other groovebox apps.If I were to make one criticism: when clipping occurs - it doesn't handle such things very... Gracefully. It's a harsh, digital clipping. The absence of proper level/output meters makes it difficult to discern the source of such clipping - to find the culprit. One must adjust each generator/level and listen until things are sufficiently tame. A minor issue overall.Considering what you get for the price, it's a no-brainer.
Close, but not ready for prime time

Paul’s machines makes some great sounds and are a lot of fun to play with. It’s easy to lose yourself in the sound engines and in different sequencer pattern time and length values. The controls are intuitive and fun to tweak while the sequencers are running. You have free reign over pattern length and speed of each sequencer, allowing for some wonderful polyrhythmic sounds!
