The card you tap now shows that it was copied. Restore Purchases now tells you how it went. iCloud sync is more reliable. The keyboard inside the app matches the real one. Keyboard labels no longer look blurry.

Create the three snippets you need most right from the top of your list, just fill in the blanks. Things people ask for out of the blue, like your bank account, payment details or student ID, always sit in the same spot on the keyboard quick row. See the three things we set up first for you in Settings under Fit to Me. Insert the hour, minute, and second separately, like {hour}:{minute}:{second}.

Turn the send key on or off in Settings. Drafts save as you type a new snippet. Amount fields start empty on the keyboard. Lists stay steady as you swipe categories. Stacks now look like a pile of cards.

The new snippet screen is ready to type in. Category names are back on the keyboard. Favoriting a snippet no longer moves it away. Empty lists no longer take up room. If the list you are on empties, the next one opens.

Match the keyboard height to your system one. Resize the delete and send keys, and snippet height. A snippet stack now gives every slot a name. Saved blank values keep the order you put them in. The list stays still while you open and edit it.

Settings are now neatly grouped. The app no longer jolts when it opens. Keyboard preview now slides smoothly. Swiping categories no longer jumps away. See the Pro benefits you're using.

Tap the globe to switch keyboards. Press and hold to jump straight to emoji. The globe now always stays in place. It opens on the category you were using. Recent snippets show up as you add more.

The keyboard now has a send key. Locked snippets let you pick which value goes in. Images paste from the keyboard. Snippets with text and a photo keep both. Settings introduces apps worth pairing with this one.

The keyboard now has a delete key. Paste only the part you need. Fill placeholders one at a time. Build your own date and time formats. Translation on any device, plus Russian.

Pick several at once. You asked whether you could select several snippets and move or delete them together. Until now the only way was to press and hold one, then delete it, one at a time. Deleting ten meant doing the same thing ten times. Now a two finger tap on the list opens select mode. Tap cards to pick them, then move them to a category or delete them from the bar below. Select all is there too. A two finger tap is an invisible gesture, so Select Multiple also sits in the panel you get by pressing and holding a card. Coming in that way, the card you held is already picked. If you use VoiceOver, the two finger tap does not open it. VoiceOver already uses that gesture to pause and resume speech. Putting ours on top means a wrong screen opens every time you try to stop the speech. One shortcut of ours is not worth breaking the way you use the whole app, so we step back. The path in the press and hold panel stays open. What you type into a blank is used just this once. You told us: let me put in a phrase that is not in the blank and use it right there, and since it is a one time value, do not add it to the list. The old structure made that impossible. To use a value you first had to press Add to put it in the list, and on copy every filled value was saved, no exceptions. There was no way to avoid saving. So one time values, today's meeting room, this order number, piled up as chips until the list was unusable. It is the other way round now. The text field is wired straight to the value being filled, so what you type is what gets used. Only press the star beside it for the ones worth keeping. Copy saves nothing. Filling from inside the keyboard works the same way. Changing only one side would mean the result depends on where you typed it. You can set the order of a blank's values. The same message asked for this. Until now a value jumped to the front every time you used it. If you had memorised where one sits, you had to find it again every time you pressed it. Now open a blank in Manage Blanks in Settings and drag its values into the order you want. That order carries into the chips in the fill sheet. Using a value does not move it. The only thing that moves a value is you moving it. One name for one thing. A blank was called a placeholder on one screen and a variable on another. Settings had Manage Placeholders and Manage Blanks sitting side by side as two names for the same screen. It is a blank everywhere now.

Dates and times now look the way they look where you live. Someone in the US asked whether the date placeholder could come out in another shape, since the US writes month, day, year. Until now a date was 2026-08-31 everywhere and a time was 24-hour. The point of filling it in for you is that you do not have to type it, and if it is not the shape your country uses, you end up fixing it by hand anyway. Now your language and your region decide the shape. The US gets 08/31/2026 and 9:57 PM, the UK gets 31/08/2026, Germany gets 31.08.2026. Korea, China and Japan are deliberately unchanged. That is the shape they have been getting all along, and changing it would mean their results suddenly look different one day. You can also pick it yourself, in Settings under Snippets, Date format and Time format. Every choice draws today's date in that shape. MM/DD/YYYY is readable to the person who wrote it; 08/31/2026 is readable to everyone. Pick a category while you save. You told us: let me set the category as I save, moving it out of Basic afterwards is a chore. The save screen had no way to choose a category at all. It is now one row right under the body, and you can create a new category from there. Without that, someone who has not made any category yet just sees a broken control with Basic in it. After saving, the list takes you to where that snippet is visible. Before, if you were on the Basic tab and saved into Work, the screen stayed on Basic and you could not see where the thing you just made had gone. Looking like it vanished is the worst outcome. If it is already visible where you are, nothing moves. Moving the screen when you can already see it is what actually makes you lose your place. The keyboard is the height of the system keyboard now. Two reports had one root: the height feels off compared to the default keyboard, and the height jumps once as it comes up. We were pinning the number 254 weakly, so iOS stood the keyboard at its own height first, pulled it down to ours, and animated the trip. And 254 had no basis. It still carried the share of a bottom bar we removed long ago. Now the app measures your device's system keyboard height and the keyboard stands at that value, recorded per device and per orientation, so landscape is right too. If you have not opened the app yet, we estimate from the screen. iOS 26 draws the globe and dictation row outside our panel. Not knowing that, we stood 89pt taller than the system keyboard and the panel's background color did not match the row below it. Now we stand without that row's share and lay the system material behind the panel, so the two read as one surface. The color is one color. Matching the system keyboard's height exactly, though, left our panel squashed. The arithmetic was right and the premise was wrong. The system keyboard spends that whole height on keys; ours puts the category row in first and lays snippets in what is left. Given the same number, only our grid goes hungry, by more than a row. So the measured height is now treated as the grid's share, and the category row we alone draw sits on top of it. We are taller than the system keyboard by exactly what the system keyboard does not draw. Six snippets fit on any device, and if you use large keys the panel grows with them. In landscape there is a ceiling so the keyboard never takes over the screen. Categories no longer multiply on their own. Categories were growing out of hand. The app was promoting whatever category name a snippet carried into your list of categories, and sync fed each name back to the device that had just sent it. It grew even with a single device. A snippet still tagged with a category you deleted, a sample name planted in another language, any string that arrived through an import: all of it became a category.

Chinese is in. Someone asked whether we could add Chinese. We did, in both Simplified and Traditional. Every screen and the keyboard now speak Chinese, and the app name changes with them. Traditional is not just the characters swapped. It says the words Taiwan actually uses and quotes the way Taiwan quotes. Swapping only the characters leaves a mainland vocabulary sitting there for anyone reading in Taipei. The banks, addresses and payment methods in the examples were changed to local ones too. For people whose device language and reading language differ, there is now a language setting. Settings, Appearance, Language. It takes effect the moment you pick it, no relaunch. The keyboard follows the next time you open it. Reorder your snippets from inside the keyboard. They stood in the order you saved them, so the ones you use most ended up at the back. The app had reordering, but the place you actually pick a snippet is the keyboard, and if fixing the order means a trip back to the app, most people never fix it. Now you move them right there. Everything visible is laid out in a single line while you move, so sending something from page one to the top of page two works. There is also a one step at a time path for anyone who finds dragging hard. Each move is written down as you let go, so leaving for another app mid reorder does not lose it. Rename a blank, and delete the ones you never use. Someone wrote in: in Manage Blanks you can delete values one by one, but not the blank itself, so unused names pile up and clutter the list. They were right. Swipe a row now and you get Rename and Delete. Renaming also changes the name inside every snippet that uses it. Leaving the old name in your text while changing the name would orphan the blank you just renamed, with your snippets still pointing at the old one. Because it edits text you wrote, we show you how many snippets will change before you commit. Delete only appears on blanks no snippet uses. A blank that is still in use comes back the next time we read your text, so rather than offer a delete button that does not delete, we do not offer one. Fixed a crash while making a snippet. The same person told us the app sometimes died or froze when adding a snippet and tapping combo. It was the moment you removed one of the follow up steps: the screen read the number of the row that had just disappeared, one more time. It was intermittent because it depended on when the screen redrew. Each step now carries its own identity, so it cannot happen. Feedback now has a place for your reply address. You could send us a note, but we had nowhere to write back to. There are now name and email fields. Both are optional, and if you fill them in we fill them in for you next time. They are stored on your device only. We ask for a rating only after you have actually used it. Three snippets and five app launches used to be enough for us to ask. That caught people who had made snippets but never got the keyboard turned on. Asking for stars from someone who has not received anything yet has a predictable answer. Now we ask only after you have pasted something from the keyboard at least once.

Your saved time, said in something you can picture. The video you share has changed. It used to put the saved time itself in the big type, but time is a unit you cannot size up. Reading that you saved an hour and a half tells you nothing about whether that is a lot until you convert it in your head, and nobody does that in the three seconds a story gets. Now the big type holds the conversion already done. Far enough to run 12.5km. Eight episodes. Three books. Four marathons. Twelve cups of coffee, even at minimum wage. Ten of them, a different one each time you open it, and a Try another button if you want to roll again. The ones counted in money use the minimum wage and prices where you live. There is a reason we say cups instead of an amount: an amount drifts wrong a little every year, and a cup count holds far longer, because minimum wage and the price of coffee move together. If we do not have prices for where you are, the money ones simply do not appear and you get something else. The saved time and the real count stay, small, underneath. The big number is an estimate and that line is the part we actually counted. A picture with nothing but estimates on it is not a brag, it is an ad. Settings got a pass. You can now add and delete your own background image from Settings. Putting your own photo behind the list, and removing it, only existed in the picker on the snippet list screen. Anyone who went to Settings to change the background saw the eight built in ones and assumed that was all there was. When two screens share a name but not their abilities, people take whichever one they found as the whole feature. Deleting asks once, and the original in your photo library is left alone. Keyboard practice is gone. The keyboard setup guide directly above it was doing the same job. Paste notification settings is now Turn off the paste alert. A row that only says settings makes you open it to find out what it can do. Naming the thing you want to do tells you before you go in. Placeholders, categories and the inbox now sit together. All three are places to look at what you have made, but the inbox was off on its own next to persona. We changed when we ask about your persona. We used to ask on the very first screen. Nobody knows the answer there. You have not used the app yet, so there is no way to know what picking Digital Nomad over Student does to your screen, and more to the point you do not yet know what this app is. Now we ask after you have used it. Once you have made two snippets or created a category, you know what you came here to do. That is when we ask, once, whether this sounds like you. You can skip it. Answered or skipped, we do not ask again. Until then it is set to General. The old default was Digital Nomad. That was a fact about where this app started, international transfers and visas, not a fact about you. Most people opening it for the first time came to store a phone number and an address, and showing them IBAN and passport number tells them this app is not for them. Two cards on the usage screen became one. A card saying you had earned three hours sat right above a card saying you had saved about three hours. The same sentence, twice, one under the other. It is one card now, and it takes on color on a day worth celebrating. The comparison line changes when you tap it. If a movie does not land for you, tap. Far enough to run 30km. Four episodes. 135 pages. Seven cups of coffee, even at minimum wage. A line meant to give you a sense of scale fails at that job if it only ever measures with one ruler. The check seal is always yellow green. The one on the old celebration card was the only place in the app still following the key color.

Pick the color of what you tap. Settings now has a Key color. Choose from seven, and the app and the keyboard both switch to it. A real card and a real button sit under the swatches, so you see what your screen becomes the moment you tap a color. The default is the blue iPhone itself uses. This app spends most of its life as a keyboard inside someone else's app, so it is better when nothing gives away which app it came from. If you want the old orange, pick Terracotta. If you want no color at all, there is Ink. The rest of the palette was reset with it. The faint yellow cast in backgrounds and text is gone, replaced by a neutral gray. Red, green and yellow stay exactly as they were. Those are signals, not taste, and a delete button must never look like a save button. Checkmarks are always yellow green now. If the mark that says "picked" or "done" followed your key color, someone who chose Plum would get a purple checkmark. Saying yes has a color of its own. The pictures you share were redrawn too. The yellowed paper tone is gone from the saved time video and the refund receipt, replaced by a clean white. If you use dark mode, what you export is dark. What leaves should look like what you saw. The big number carries your key color, so the app you use is visible in the picture. The keyboard learns a few things on its own. If you keep moving the cursor to the same spot after inserting and typing from there, the app starts placing the cursor there for you from the third time on. No brace syntax to learn. Turn it off in the snippet editor if you would rather not, and your text is never altered. If you keep correcting the same spot with a different value each time, we ask whether that spot should be a fill in blank. If you correct it to the same value every time, the saved text is simply out of date, so we ask whether to update it. If the spot is different each time, we say nothing. When you paste several lines at once, or create snippets one after another by hand, the bulk import option comes to you instead of waiting inside the plus button. The first run was reworked too. Combos are taught properly now. Tapped once, a combo looks exactly like an ordinary snippet, so nothing on screen said it was holding several values. The tutorial now walks you through inserting one, sending it, switching to the next value with the arrow, then inserting and sending again. Seeing two different values land is what makes it click. We also point out, once, that this tab has two screens. Nothing had ever explained how to move between the card list and the keyboard, so anyone who started on the keyboard never found their own list. The pause between tutorial chapters is down to three seconds, and tapping the countdown skips it. The paste practice screen is gone: the value is already in place the moment you tap a card, so asking you to paste the same thing again was asking you to redo what you just did. When you create a snippet, the row of blue buttons no longer springs up the moment you touch the content field. Tap the fill in field row to open it. Once opened, it stays open. The guidance now follows you into making your first snippet. It used to point at the plus button and stop there. Tap through and four empty fields open at once, with nothing saying what goes where. Now it walks the fields from the top: the name, where the value comes from, what gets pasted, and Save. Move on with the Next button, or just fill a field and it moves on by itself. Turn the tips off if you would rather not have them. Turning on the keyboard no longer blocks the way. That step used to be a full screen at the end of the tutorial, but it can only be finished by leaving for the Settings app, so anyone who could not do it right then had no way past. It is a banner at the top of the keyboard screen now. It steps aside while another message is using that spot, and takes the spot once it is free. It does not go away until the keyboard is actually on.

``` Swipe a photo to take only the text you need. You no longer have to retype an account number from a bankbook or a phone number from a business card. While creating a shortcut, tap Scan text in, take a photo, and swipe your finger over the part you need. Only the text your finger passes over becomes the content. A photo holds more text than you need. A bankbook photo carries the bank name, the account holder and the product name along with the account number. Pour all of it into the value and you end up deleting most of it. Swiping takes just the account number. Picked something by mistake? Swipe over it again with the eraser. Pinch with two fingers to zoom in on small text. Long numbers without hyphens are split into five character pieces, so you can take just the part you need. If swiping is hard, pick from a list of the recognized lines instead. The photo is never saved. The text is taken out and the photo is discarded. Recognition happens entirely on your iPhone, so neither the photo nor the text is sent anywhere. The buttons under the content field are now two separate rows. Scan text in takes only the text from a photo, and Attach an image keeps the photo itself. Fixed a brief freeze when reopening the app. Waiting for content copied on your Mac now happens away from the screen.

**Time saved, counted again** 5.0 rebuilt how we count. This release fixes the fact that it was set **too low**. Inflated numbers aren't the only kind of lie: numbers that are far too low make the app's actual work invisible. - **At least 2 minutes per use.** A git token was the giveaway. It's a 40-character random string, so the app saw "text" and counted about 10 seconds of typing. What you actually did was open GitHub, dig into settings, find or generate the token, copy it, and come back. That is not 10 seconds. Saving something as a snippet means "I don't want to deal with this every time," so every use now counts as at least 2 minutes saved. That is **a minimum we chose**, not something we measured, and the record screen says so. - **Hand-typed values get classified too.** This was the bigger hole. A category was only attached to snippets arriving from the clipboard or share sheet. Type an account number into "Add snippet" and it never had one, so a value you opened a banking app for counted the same as a greeting. We had five categories and most snippets carried none of them, which meant the whole distinction was dead. Now we work it out at counting time. - **Fetch times sized to reality.** Opening a banking app was counted as 28 seconds. Time yourself: cold start, biometric auth, navigating to the account screen, waiting on the network. It doesn't finish in 28 seconds, so it's now 110. Fetching from another app went from 12 to 55 seconds, and retrieving a physical document from 45 to 165. The select-copy-return handling went from 8 to 25 seconds, because drag handles never land right the first time. - **What that changes.** One account number goes from 50 seconds to **2m46s**, a passport number to **3m13s**, and a git token, an email or an address to **2 minutes**. **Still not inflated** - **One effort isn't counted as several.** Pasting your account number three times into one form doesn't mean you opened the bank app three times. Reuse the same snippet within 10 minutes and the lookup and copy-paste are charged only once. - **We stop counting where you'd have stopped typing.** A 5,000-character snippet used to read "20 minutes saved" from a single tap. Nobody types that by hand; they copy it from somewhere, and that path was already counted. Typing time now tops out at three minutes. - **"ok" is still zero.** The 2-minute baseline fills in what we failed to measure. It doesn't claim savings that weren't there. **We now say which part is measured and which part is a guess** "Time saved" is the duration of something that never happened. The world where you did it by hand does not exist, so we never measured it. "32 times," on the other hand, actually happened and we counted it. Yet the screen was showing the estimate large and the certain thing as a footnote. - The big number on a receipt changed from "27 minutes" to **"32 times."** The time sits below it, labelled "by hand, roughly." - The receipt footer now reads "The count is measured. The time is an estimate." - The share video caption changed from "time saved" to **"doing this by hand."** Same number, different claim. In exchange, "Actually: 32 taps" now gets the same size. **Typing speed, at least, is measured** When you create a snippet you type its value into our own editor. That is the one moment where "if you'd done it by hand" is **actually observable**. We time it, and from then on we count with your speed instead of an average. One assumption turned into an observation.

We rebuilt the path a first-time user walks. We do not hand you an empty box. A snippet, a template, and a combo are waiting, and we walk you through tapping each one. Your hands learn the difference before any explanation would. What we planted stays after the tutorial ends, so you start with three things you can actually use. At the end we ask once whether you would like them cleared. A ripple shows you what comes next. It travels from the snippet key to picking a value, to inserting, to sending. The last step asks you to make one of your own, because trying is not the same as having. If nothing comes to mind, you can put it off. Without the keyboard turned on, this app is nothing. So we remind you once a day until we can confirm it is on. Closing the guide used to count as done. It does not anymore. Templates are far easier to fill. With four blanks you no longer have to guess which row belongs to which value. Every blank shows its name and the value you picked, and each one sits in its own boxed area. Picking a value updates the preview first, and nothing is typed until you tap insert, so you can try a different one. Blanks that fill themselves, like today's date, now show the value instead of looking like an empty hole. Your picks, auto-filled values, and empty blanks each get their own color. If there are no saved values, you can create one right there without leaving for the app. Time saved, counted honestly. We used to count typing time only. But the real cost of an account number is not the few seconds of typing. It is opening the bank app, finding it, long-pressing to select, copying, coming back, and pasting. Now we count all of it, and your record screen shows exactly how we counted. Did you know. Every few days we tell you one thing you might not know yet. They all live in Settings, and you can turn them off any time. The first one is this. This app has no server. Your account numbers and ID numbers live only on this phone, and even we cannot see them. There is no server to breach, so there is nothing to breach. Fixed. After a reinstall or on a new phone, your old snippets showed up even if you tapped later. Nothing is pulled down now until you turn sync on from that device. The home screen showed the wrong name and the app icon was missing, and both are back to normal. A new orange key color makes the thing to tap obvious.

This release fixes how the app opens, and how your devices keep up with each other. ### Fixes • **The app freezing while it opened.** Getting iCloud ready sat on the same thread as drawing the first screen, so on devices where iCloud was slow to answer, the app never opened and was shut down. That preparation now runs apart from the screen, and the screen comes up first. • **A failed startup no longer blocks the next one.** Whatever got stuck sits out, and your screen comes up first. If the same step gets stuck twice, it stays off for this version. Anything that protects your data keeps running regardless. • **Sync between devices dropping every edit and deletion after the first upload.** A snippet deleted on iPhone stayed on the Mac, and edits never crossed over. It looked like sync that only ever added things.

Open the app and the keyboard is right there, the way it looks everywhere else. New here? You'll make one snippet yourself and use it, step by step. ### The first screen • The keyboard, as it really looks: see it the way it appears in other apps, and tap to try it right away. • Tap to type, hold to copy: inside the app, a short tap types the snippet and a long press puts it on the clipboard. • Your list is still here: pick your first screen in Settings › First screen, and switch anytime from the toolbar. • Category tabs and swipe paging are there from the start. ### Image snippets: tap one and you see the result • Tap and it attaches: in the preview, tapping an image snippet puts that image right into the composer. It used to only copy, with nothing happening on screen, so you couldn't tell whether it had worked. • Send it as is: you don't have to type a single character first. Seeing what you tapped is the whole point of this screen. • Take it off anytime: tap the x next to the attached image. • Images copied from other apps work too: a paste button appears in the composer whenever your clipboard holds an image. ### Long-press a key to see the value in full • Nothing gets cut off: press and hold a key and the value fills the keyboard. Long ones scroll, so you can read to the end. • Combos unfold in order: a key holding several values shows them as 1, 2, 3. • Copy right there: a button at the bottom of the panel puts it on the clipboard. • Locked shortcuts never show their value. Tap the key and authenticate to insert it. ### When you tidy up categories • We tell you what's inside: try to hide the tab of a category that still holds snippets, and we'll first tell you how many are in there. • Move them all at once: pick a destination and the whole category moves, then the tab is hidden as you intended. • Counts are right there in the list: each row in Manage categories shows how many snippets it holds. • Empty categories are fine to keep. That's what a category looks like right after you make one, and its tab stays put. ### The Shortcut Mart: don't start from a blank page • Take one off the shelf: `+` › Shortcut Mart has ready-made situations: sharing your account number, asking for a settlement, an out-of-office reply, and more. • Matches you first: we show what fits the type you picked (Work, Student, Nomad, Everyday), and you can switch to All to browse everything. • Only your own bits: tap "Use this" and you'll only see the blanks. Now Shortcut is the default, and "Inbox" is there when you'd rather decide later.

The widget now works on iPad too - Cross-device sync (beta) now works properly, if you bought the app back when it was paid, turning sync on in Settings didn't actually start it — that's fixed. Changes are only marked as sent once the upload is confirmed, so nothing goes missing when the app closes mid-sync - We tell you when saved data can't be read, in rare cases a damaged save file made it look like all your snippets were gone — and saving anything then overwrote the original. Now the original is kept untouched and we walk you through recovery - Delete all your data from Settings, removes snippets, clipboard history, combos, and images in one go.
