The Current Menu Bar Champ

From what I’ve read, Apple has made life even more difficult for Menu Bar app developers in macOS 26. This may explain the host of problems that have appeared in popular free and paid apps. After reporting and patiently waiting for Bartender and Ice to resolve several issues, I finally decided to try Barbee. It’s not perfect, but turned out to be the most stable, feature-rich and well designed of all the apps I’ve tried. Well worth the small price that enables the dev to keep working on improvements. 👏🏼
Great Bartender Replacement

I was looking for something that would allow the same functionality as Bartender for macOS 12 (Preview) and noticed that this looked like a watered down version of it. It's actually cheaper and although it wasn't as intuitive to set up for the first time, it includes all of the functionality that I care for. I would recommend it for all those in the same situation as I was. The only thing I would improve is simply hiding the "Hidden" label when showing on hidden items by themselves.

This is an excellent menu bar management tool with tons of customizations and features. The 1 feature where I constantly consider switching back to Bartender is the search option. I have too many menu bar items and most times it is much easier/faster to just search for the menu bar app instead of having to spend at least 20 seconds trying to locate the icon in the menu bar.

I am testing macOS 26 and had issues with Bartender not working properly. After looking on Reddit, I found Barbee, again. I believe I had purchased sometime back but wasn’t where Bartender was at the time. However taking new look at the application, it feels like its come a long way. I was testing out the features like with dual monitors and notch monitors and like the experience. The flow feels really good as well, no lag and so far its working great under macOS 26.
