Ratings and Reviews
Login problems with Safari Profiles
Good app but be aware that if you have multiple Safari profiles there is a problem logging in to any but the default profile (profile 0). I blame Apple due to all the other problems using Safari profiles — a “not-ready-for-prime-time” idea from Apple.
Better than LinerPDF for usability.
In terms of usability, Raindrop is the best app I have found for collecting and highlighting web pages. I used to use LinerPDF for highlighting until Raindrop aquired this function. Now I use Raindrop only, b/c it is very good for highlighting, and also great for collecting and curating links. Also, I find its user interface to be better and more useful.
I don't have an opinion security and privacy. I also don't really worry that much.
Warning: security risk and developer cannot be reached
Version 5.4.1 carries a dire warning that this extension can "read and alter" information on web pages including passwords and credit cards — with no explanation on the web site about why it needs to see that information in order to make a bookmark!
I tried to contact the developer but the Contact link at the top of the help page is broken and the link in the text under "Welcome" is also broken. I hope the developer reads and responds here, or I will have to stop using this service. Too bad, it was great before this update.
