New in 4.2.0: gift a ticket from any event page, message other creative users, and a dashboard that
matches the web. Plus a fresh look for 2026.
Basita is where the world's stage comes to you.
Theatre, film, music, storytelling, workshops and talks; streamed live from Cairo, Beirut, Amman, the Gulf and beyond, or premiered for you to watch at the time announced. Whether you left the region years ago or simply live too far from the venue, Basita puts you in the audience.

FOR ARTISTS AND ART ORGANISATIONS
Basita is not only for audiences. If you make the work, the app carries the tools with you:
• Create an event from your phone — schedule, price, language, age
guidance, country availability and collaborators
• A dashboard showing your last thirty days: page views, unique
visitors, bookings, where your audience came from, and your earnings
• Manage each event's reports, promo codes, referrals and campaigns
• A streaming centre for going live
• Message other creative users directly
• Invite collaborators and credit everyone properly
Apply to become a creative user from inside the app, and once approved your profile joins the Creative Users directory alongside every other artist and organisation on Basita.
IN ARABIC AND ENGLISH
The whole app, interface and content alike, works in both languages. Switch whenever you like.

This is our biggest update yet, for audiences and for the artists
and organisations who perform on Basita.
NEW
• Gift a ticket from any event page — your friend gets a code by
email and claims it themselves. You can gift an event even if you
already have a ticket for it
• Messages: creative users can now talk to each other directly in
the app
• A creator dashboard that matches the website: your last thirty
days, where your audience came from, your next event, your
earnings, and your most visited events
• Create an event from your phone, with the same form the website
offers
• Artists, content creators and venues are now one Creative Users
directory you can search by name or discipline
IMPROVED
• A new look throughout, following Basita's 2026 identity — new
colours, new typefaces, a redesigned home screen and a splash
screen to match
• Event posters load reliably, and sharing an event now shows its
poster
• Clearer event pages, and the video player in Basita's own colours
• Arabic and English both tidied, with corrected labels and counts
FIXED
• Ticket prices now show the full total — ticket, service charge and
VAT — before you pay
• Support you add for an artist now reaches them
• Your wallet balance is read live, so it is correct when you come
to pay
• Following an artist works, and the button remembers
• Event times save in the timezone chosen for the event, not your
phone's
• Signing in explains what went wrong instead of showing a generic
error
• Becoming a creative user works from start to finish
• Passwords are no longer written to the device log
