I am an English teacher on a quest to find the best apps and platforms that will help students of English. In August 2024, I found THIS app: “RealLife: Speak, Learn English” while searching - yet again - for “best English learning apps”, and I spent about an hour testing it thoroughly and I must say, it is now going to be the tied for first place with two other apps, for being a must have tool for improving one’s English language skills. I have read the most critical reviews and they are from a year or so ago, and I would argue the negative comments made by previous reviewers. Maybe there were issues in the past, however from my own experiences using the app; I find the responsiveness and design of the ui/ux and the audio quality to be superb; and the introduction and tutorial to be one of the best I have seen, seriously. If you know me, you know I am not a shill for the developers. This app is just so VERY SOLID, and HELPFUL, that I am submitting my review forthwith because of the HIGH VALUE this app offers to learners of English. Be sure to go through the entire tutorial, it will be time well spent. I only give rave “five apple” reviews when deserved. Some other apps that I LOVE and USE daily, need some more time to deserve a Five Star review, because I can’t say an app is five stars when I know it “still needs some improvement”. But in due time I think they will reach the plateau. Congrats to the dev team at RealLife for bringing this amazing product to market.

Another suggestion after 2 weeks experience

Another feature that would be incredibly useful is the ability to add personal notes to vocabulary. For example, learners could edit or add their own native-language meanings, personal mnemonics, usage notes, or any other information they find helpful. Having customizable vocabulary notes would make the learning experience much more personal and effective.

Love the app but hard when it glitches
its not tuesday
Help please is my second day and I can’t even finish what I started yesterday because the podcast is loading and it never gets better, I was really exited about paying for an app where I can learn more but it just glitches. Other than that it’s amazing but never get to finish the podcast 😢

I cannot allow myself to rate this app anything less than 5 stars as it deserves this rating but, devs, here me out. Your network issues are getting worse day by day. Disable video to get some relief on the bandwidth.It is so frustrating to match with someone to get instantly disconnected after ‘Hello’. People on this app are now thinking that there’s something wrong with them that no one talks to them and disconnects. Another suggestion is to disable end call button for the first 15 seconds. Otherwise this app/service is amazing. Thank you so much for it.
