Olminator is a conversion utility to convert "Microsoft Outlook for Mac" archives – so-called ".olm" files – into open file formats for emails (.mbox/.eml), calendar (.ics), contact information (.vcf/vCard, .csv) and notes (.html) – or even PDF, HTML or CSV. This guarantees maximum interoperability and allows to smoothly import your data into Apple Mail, Apple Calendar, Apple Contacts, Apple Notes or other popular productivity applications.
The application has been specifically tuned to be interoperable with Apple Mail, Apple Calendar, Apple Contacts and Apple Notes applications.
Arbitrary sized ".olm" archive files containing hundreds of thousands of emails, calendar events or contacts can be quickly converted "on the fly" due to the "streaming" approach of Olminator. No size restrictions apply so that even extremely large .olm archives (e.g. 100GB or above) can be handled reliably.
Olminator gets the conversion job done fast:
- A 110GB .olm file containing 450.000 emails with 120.000 attachments gets converted in just 5 minutes on a MacBook Pro i7
- Another 20GB .olm file takes 2 minutes on that same hardware
- On the Apple M1 processor Olminator shows even smoother performance: that 20GB .olm file gets converted in just 1 minute
Olminator can of course handle internationalized content, e.g. Japanese or Chinese emails, or calendar events with start and end times in any timezone.

It's rare to find an application that does exactly the thing you need it to do, and do it with minimal fuss, fanfare, or effort. I had reached a tipping point with MS Outlook, having been frustrated with its developers persistent unwillingess to port any of my POP account data over to the "New" version, and determined to migrate eveyrthing I could over to Mac Mail. Olminator made that process so easy, fast, and frictionless, that I was uncharacteristically delighted enough to leave a 5-star rating and this glowing review. It did exactly what it said it would do, and did it quickly, while presenting me with a clear, uncluttered inrterface that, in an ideal world, every developer would emulate. For anyone looking to escape the clutches of MS Outlook, Olminator is the perfect solution. The one thing I wish it offered, but which, sadly, I think is not doable at this point, would be a way to export all the Rules I had creaed over the years for sorting incoming and outgoing mail into the custom folders I use to keep my correspondence with clietele and user groups organized. Outlook itself does not offer a way to export Rules data, so I suppose it's not reasonable to expect a 3rd party developer to come up with a sneakyway to do it behind Outlook's back.

This is one of those rare applications that fills a very specific need, but does so exceptionally well. The free version of this software did enough to meet my needs, but it saved me so much time and effort that I purchased the full version to show my appreciation to the developer.I have an old OLM archive with tens of thousands of emails that I need for reference, and the newest versions of Outlook for Mac will no longer open the archive. Olminator scanned and extracted the entire archive in just a couple of minutes, and less than five minutes after launching the applicationI was able to access my entire archive in Apple Mail with the folder structure fully intact. Brilliant!In addition to being fast and highly automated, there is detailed documentation should you need it. It's really amazing what this developer provides for free, and I encourage other users to support him through the in-app purchase even if you don't need the extra features. If you think about how useful this tool is, and how much time it will save you, the cost is insanely reasonable.

Olminator accurately and efficiently converted 5.4 GB of emails in four different accounts from the MS Outlook for Mac .olm archive to the .mbox format I needed for a backup during my transition to a new hosting service.I recently transitioned from a hosting service that uses MS Exchange for email to a service that does not. The transition was more difficult than I anticipated, owing to the current version of Outlook no longer supporting export of all emails en masse. Björn talks about how to obviate this difficulty on his site, but I had not yet discovered his contributions when I encountered this problem. Thankfully, I found from another online poster that it was possible to switch to the legacy Outlook app, which still maintains this capability.Once I had the .olm file, I started searching for how to convert it to .mbox format, and that is how I discovered Björn’s great Olminator app. Olminator took care of the rest, and I was able to import the .mbox files into Apple’s email app in case something went wrong in the hosting transition. After 25 years, I’m moving from Outlook calendar and contacts to Apple. The free features in Olminator are impressive. Conversion was easy, fast, and without errors. Imported into Apple with no problem.I didn’t need the additional tools with paid update in the app, but purchased to support the app creator. Great old-school share-alike attitude, thanks! It would be good to be able to break up the calendar files into 10 year segments rather than 1 big calendar file. Doesn’t look like that’s possible - or maybe I overlooked something?

In the Viewer, with the in-app purchase, you can select a calendar and use filters to restrict which calendar events are going to converted. Using start data and end date ranges, you effectively limit your calendar conversion to those within a certain timeframe. I believe this addresses what you are looking for.Best regards, Björn
