Great MIDI routing app, but audio routing gets in the way

The MIDI routing functions mostly work as expected. Unfortunately the audio routing part of the app interferes with Loopback, another audio routing app with a better user interface. A matrix of MIDI inputs and MIDI outputs would be much easier to use that placing icons and drawing ‘wires’ between them. App authors could look at the matrix-based user interfaces for network audio protocols like Dante and AVB, or the audio channel assignment matrices found in the control software for professional audio mixers.

Incredibly Useful Audio Utility

I needed a way to do some complex audio and midi routing between two audio interfaces. I also needed it to reconnect things automatically if one of the interfaces is restarted. There aren’t many apps that can do this. Even DAWs don’t do what I needed (inputs on one device fed into another device where audio is processed, fed back into the first device to monitor, plus routing for different midi controllers/interfaces). Plus there are a bunch of additional features I’m not using.

* Increased maximum capacity of internal audio engine to enable more devices * Bug fix for export of uncompressed WAV audio that was still compressed to M4A * Bug fix for (failing) use of software aggregate audio devices: no longer supported. Always use your original hardware in a patch. PatchBay then creates a dedicated and optimized software aggregate device on the fly, internally and invisible, that ensures best performance.
