HerBChain is a non-profit informative platform for recording the manufacturing process of herbal products, so as to enhance the traceability and reliability of the product information. HerBChain covers a range of contents and comprises different information from the manufacturing and supply chain of herbal products, including (1) planting base, (2) TCM processing factory, (3) TCM manufacturing factory, (4) distributor, (5) retailer and (6) laboratory or Testing centre. Consumers are able to retrieve all these data, from planting, processing, manufacturing, testing to wholesale, simply by scanning the labels printed on the herbal products with smart phones. Consumers can also get access to the relevant test reports to know more about the quality of the products and make an informed choice. This platform enhances consumer confidence on quality control and quality assurance of herbal products. HerBChain aims to achieve 「Source tracking, Whereabouts verification, Responsibility affixing」.
