Suzerain is the most enjoyable, thought-provoking, challenging and rewarding iOS game I’ve ever played. Being thrust into a near-chaotic country’s economic nightmares, surrounded by supposed ally and enemy countries alike, and being uncertain even if your Chief Strategist or VP is scheming against you while they offer advice you really need to win, collectively creates a game that offers no clear win strategy but offers players the opportunity to choose multiple political pathway(s) that can veer over time.I played up to a certain point in my first game, hated some of my decisions, and did a re-start to get my ducks lined up. I ended up winning a second term, going a “Centrist” route per the end of game analysis. Suzerain does an amazing job providing a panoply of AI characters, interactions and decisions that can make or break you, literally - you’ll face bribe opportunities in the face of chaos, friends that turn against you and enemies that suddenly want to make a deal. It’s all so gray-area that you may THINK (or feel) you’ve done the right thing, only to have it backfire. I did the best I could to keep promises, but some turned upside down, and I had to back out of (or slip around) a few things I shouldn’t have done early in my presidency.Anyhow - the intent isn’t to give anything away. This is an AMAZING game that I will now play over and over, trying new strategies, imagining new leaders (good and bad) to run the country. A big 5 stars, and then some, from me.
One of a kind political simulator with shaky writing

Suzerain is a truly unique work of interactive fiction. As far as I’m aware, it is the only game of this length and depth that tells the story of a president guiding the country through policy decisions day to day while simultaneously politicking with the different parties, factions, and interests. In this regard, it is a trailblazer.Yet all interactive fiction necessarily lives and dies by the quality of its writing, and here the game falls short. It becomes obvious a short way into the story that the writers of this game aren’t native English speakers. While there is little outright broken English, the writing is littered with instances of awkward phrasing. Beyond this, the dialogue options are often amateurish or outright nonsensical. Although the sentiment of the choices usually comes through, poor writing, especially in the choices, hurts the reader’s immersion. I would recommend getting a native English speaking professional editor to read through and polish the text in a future version.Nevertheless, I recommend downloading the app and giving it a go if you enjoy text-based games and/or politics, as the intrigue and anticipation in seeing the consequences of your actions make it worth wading through the sometimes cringeworthy writing.

This game is one of the best games i have ever played. It will make you addicted to it. If your the kind of person really want to know the experience of the daily life’s of president’s and monarchs in details through daily meetings and council meetings also there private lifes this game is for you , i mean literally when you go to other cities it mentions everything the motorcade the bodyguard’s….etc i just love how detailed it is , it makes you feel like your really a monarch or a president. I thank the team owning this game from the bottom of my heart and appreciate there hard work you guys just made my dream game true . It only misses one massive game-changing point and its the animation i just wish you could see the motorcade, bodyguard’s, counsil meetings, the palace’s, the detailed meetings of other leaders from the beginning to the last, the coronation . I hope 4.0 will bring these things I mentioned above to life . Having these animated for the player seeing it in picture or even in 3D that would make it the top besssssssssst political game anyone could play . Thank you guys again.

I completely and utterly love this game! This game is one of the best strategy games on mobile I have ever played. Sure there are some crashes when am on cellular data but I don’t have the best data. But this game reminds me so much of heart of iron four but mobile which makes it even better because it’s free. The only real problem I have it with are the points when we need to spend before we switch turns and I like that you must complete all of the storyline before moving on but still the points are a little annoying. I think it would be cool to play more nations but all and all this is a top tier game and good job to the men and women who made it.Update: hello again I wanted to update this again and got to say still a amazing game everything is great a couple crashes here and there and I think they could update the budget a bit for sordland but still amazing and another thing if they added more nations like rumburg or pales and others if they added those this game can go to the next level for mobile games close to games like hearts of iron 4 all and all great game
