DREAMS MAC+CAMERA TOOLS, STACKS STYLE-procreate instead of gray folders
лолззззх
1.Dedicated Camera Layer Please add a real camera system with a dedicated camera layer. Currently, to create camera movement, I have to manually move all layers in the scene. If I forget even one layer, it stays in place and breaks the animation. A camera should be a separate object that can be animated independently.2.Better Group/Stack Design Please redesign groups to look more like Stacks in Procreate. The current gray folder icon is difficult to use because I cannot see what is inside without opening it. It would be much more useful to display thumbnails or preview images, especially when organizing multiple projects such as horizontal and vertical versions of the same video.3.Mac Version Support Please add support for working on Mac. Drawing and cutting out objects is comfortable on iPad, but animation, camera work, and project organization are much easier with a keyboard, mouse, and larger screen. The ability to continue working on Mac would greatly improve the workflow.

Quite disappointed again

My writing skills aren't good, and English isn’t my first language so I used translation, there might be some awkward parts. It's become more complicated. Before, I could see the tracks, the screen, and the brush library all in one place, but now I have to press more buttons, which is inconvenient. I also think separating the flipbook and tracks was a very unfortunate decision. In fact, I don't understand why they even added the flipbook in the first place. The Drawing section has essentially become just a background section. Even that has become cumbersome to use for changing backgrounds. Why? Because after selecting the Drawing section and drawing, the track becomes very long. If you're creating an animation where the background remains constant from beginning to end, like in the example animations you've created, it might be fine, but if an animator wants to change the background frequently, this feature will be very inconvenient. Despite this, there are definitely some improvements. Adding the Select and Transform buttons was a great improvement. To be honest, and this is just my personal opinion, I think it would have been better if they had only added the Select and Transform features to the previous version. In summary, there are definitely more features than before, but the process of using those features is a bit complicated.

Confusing features
Maevanna
I’ve been using the original procreate app since 2018 and I’ve loved it - it’s easy to navigate (at least in my opinion, which may be biased since I’ve been using it so long), and it has all the features one could need without any “pro” features. The problem I have with dreams is that while it is similar to procreate, there’s features that I find unnecessarily difficult to manage. One example is that when I’m making an animation and I need to use the lasso tool to move something around, it’s incredibly hard to reverse that action thanks to the lasso tool hiding the undo button when being used, meaning that you can’t really undo anything. Another thing I find irritating is that in procreate original you can change the settings of whatever brush it is that you’re using, but this feature seems to have disappeared in dreams. Maybe it’s still there and I just haven’t figured out how to select it, but it’s frustrating that this app seems to lacks the ability to perform functions that its original version performed flawlessly. I still look forward to using dreams, and I hope that maybe eventually either through updates or simply better understanding, I’ll be able to use it to it’s full potential.

Hi Maevanna – Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us 🙏. While working in Procreate Dreams, although the Undo and Redo buttons are not visible in the Select tool, you can always use the two-finger tap gesture to Undo, or the three-finger tap to Redo. In case these gestures are not yet enabled in your app, while you are inside a project, go to Movie Settings (toggles button on top of the Timeline, beside the Theater button) > go to Prefs > Gestures > enable the option 'Undo and redo gestures'. — Regarding the Brush Studio, it is a feature for a dedicated painting app and is currently not planned to be included in Procreate Dreams. Our goal with Procreate Dreams is for it to be an individual product, but to also feel familiar so existing Procreate users can pick it up with ease. Because of this some tools have been brought over from Procreate to Procreate Dreams. To keep both products streamlined in what they are designed to do, some features will remain exclusive to Procreate and Procreate Dreams. However, all the feedback is important to us - the idea to include the Brush Studio in Procreate Dreams is listed as requested, and we have added your support vote to it; this will be seen directly by our development team. — We will keep working hard to improve all the Procreate apps further! - If you ever have future queries or suggestions about our apps, feel free to message us anytime via the Support Form at procre.at/support - it is our official contact channel, and we are always happy to help!
It’s a lot better, but there’s still some very big issues with this app
Shnickl
I do like the changes in the app compared to before, but one of the biggest issues I have with the software is that, the features present in standard procreate are just completely gone in procreate dreams. There’s no palm rejection, it’s too easy to randomly select an unwanted color due to that, as well as undo constantly happening, I just don’t quite understand how these features could be so refined in standard procreate and feel completely different inside it’s related software. the Apple Pencil Pro doesn’t have that clicking feel when using the lasso tool, it also just doesn’t work well and constantly has glitches(I’m using top tier equipment, iPad Pro m4) this software feels like it’s trying to be procreate… which I mean shouldn’t be hard because it’s from the same company, yet all the features within it feel as if it was designed to cheaply as possible to imitate its standard software, to best describe it procreate dreams’ features is like using a fake iPhone, all the features are there but done so in a cheap and unsatisfying way. I’d really like to see these improvements get added later on, but as of right now I’d argue it’s almost barely usable due to how inconsistent and glitchy it is.

Hi Shnickl – Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us, we are sorry to hear that Procreate Dreams has not met your expectations so far. We are working hard to improve all the features in the app further, and the main reason why it feels different to Procreate is that it has a fully new engine created by our team. This new engine is much more powerful than our previous one used in Procreate, but this also implies that any tools we want to bring from Procreate into Procreate Dreams have to be developed from scratch for the new engine. We currently plan to bring more gesture controls to Procreate Dreams, which includes more options for the Apple Pencil Pro and touch gestures as well. - 🙏 For now, to improve your Undo experience you could try the following: Open a Movie project in Procreate Dreams > tap on the Settings button on top of the Timeline, alongside the 'Theater' button > from the 'Movie Settings' window, go to 'Prefs' > Gestures > turn off the button for 'Undo and redo gestures'. You can then go back to 'Movie Settings' > check that the toggle for 'Undo and Redo buttons' is enabled so you can undo with these instead of touch gestures. — For any future queries about Procreate apps feel free to contact us anytime, via the Support Form at: procre.at/support, which is our official channel to help you always promptly.
This update frees your Flipbook. Pick it up and throw it around your screen. Make it smaller so you can focus on what you're drawing. There are also some handy improvements to your Timeline.
Vertical Flipbook
Move your Flipbook to the left or right to create a vertical timeline. Draw with one hand and flip through drawings with the other. Double tap the drag handle at any time to swap between compact and full-size Flipbook.
Next / previous drawing
There are two new buttons for jumping to the next or previous drawing, even if it's many held frames away. And you can hop straight to the start or end of your Flipbook by holding down.
Scrub lock
When your Flipbook is free, tap on the center of the scrub wheel to lock to the current frame. When you finish scrubbing it will snap back to the locked frame. Great for quickly checking against nearby frames.
Backstage visibility
When animating you're often scaling content that is larger than the Stage, or moving things onto the Stage. In Movie Settings -> Stage you can now increase the opacity of the content that extends past the Stage, so you can actually see what you're doing.
Multi-select reload
Just like in Drawing Selections, you can now hold the Multi-select button and restore your previous selection on the Timeline.
See your easings
Quickly see what easings your keyframes are using. The preset name will show up on the keyframe track of your active content.
Compose Flip and Reset
Tap on the ellipsis (...) button on the Compose bounding box to flip your content horizontally and vertically without impacting your keyframes. You can also reset your changes back to the original position, scale and rotation.
Did you know you can tap on the Performing tab and adjust the stabilization of your recordings?
