more I've been playing around with this, and it's great, but I have a few problems. Firstly, my aliased (pixel art, basically) brushes appear blurry. They use alpha threshold, and should only use colored and clear pixels with no blurry pixels in-between, but they end up blurry. But they act the same with the color-drop tool, so it's a bit weird. Secondly, the canvas size is limited to what are there as presets. I use a smaller platform a lot to post my animations, but they only use a specific resolution (4x3, but a low resolution) and the closest resolution will lose a LOT of detail if I imported anything into it. Overall, it's a great program with a similar complexity to the counterpart drawing program. I'd recommend for you, if you are looking for an animation program, to use the standard Procreate app first to get a hold on the reigns, then start using Procreate Dreams. I'd been using Procreate for around 6 months, and it really helped me because the art program I used before was THE WORST. It's pretty complex, though, and I genuinely got art block because there isn't really a clear way to use a lasso tool. Anyway, These are just my thoughts! I hope I helped you make a decision in whatever program you're planning on using :D

We will take your suggestions for pixel art on board and add your votes to the relevant feature request.Procreate Dreams is a raster (pixel) based software, so when you resize a video, some quality loss is unavoidable due to Procreate Dreams being an entirely raster-based program (it blends pixels, so when modified, the pixels get readjusted too, which can cause a visible distortion or blurry effect). Just in case you don't know, you can customise the resolution of any Procreate Dreams Project by going to Movie Settings > Project > Resolution.

The Drawing section has essentially become just a background section. Even that has become cumbersome to use for changing backgrounds. Why? Because after selecting the Drawing section and drawing, the track becomes very long. If you're creating an animation where the background remains constant from beginning to end, like in the example animations you've created, it might be fine, but if an animator wants to change the background frequently, this feature will be very inconvenient. Despite this, there are definitely some improvements. Adding the Select and Transform buttons was a great improvement. To be honest, and this is just my personal opinion, I think it would have been better if they had only added the Select and Transform features to the previous version. In summary, there are definitely more features than before, but the process of using those features is a bit complicated.

Before my review, and I know it’s on the pipeline, but I want to share that I am eagerly awaiting the quickshape tool addition to ProCreate Dreams. To me, it would complete the experience. I use both apps daily for work, and they have proved to be the utmost enjoyable, reliable experience so I am giving a well deserved 5-stars for the savage team. I’ve used so many animation programs/ apps throughout the years and never felt like one fit me on my journey from traditional to digital art. A big reason I wanted to get into digital art was to travel/create without having to lug around, or invest in paper, paints, or tools. The problem was I wanted it to be portable, and to feel like doodling in a notebook rather than on bulky computers, laptops. There were drawing tablets before then, but to keep it the main thing, there were too many caveats for my situation. I wanted something simple, and not cluttered with seemingly endless tools. Procreate to me was a powerful, yet minimalistic app that checked off everything. I love that I can head out in the backyard at sunrise, with just my iPad and pencil; yet have any color, tool, and unlimited paper at my disposal. The interface seriously feels like home, it’s enjoyable to draw in. Procreate dreams has done such a great job taking animation to the next level. It has the familiar feeling of animating with Procreate, but yet a unique ProCreate Dreams experience. I love that you can now add audio, multiple tracks, layers within tracks, as well as all the new incredible brush selections. This latest version has been so smooth, I appreciate the time that went into creating it!

I want to give this app 5 stars, because it really does have amazing timeline composition features for editing and rotoscoping. However, the Flipbook drawing experience needs considerable improvement, and keyboard shortcuts are unpredictably buggy, making the drawing experience almost unusable. I finally decided to write this review after my third app crash and noticing how the brush size was changing back to the previous memory slot every time I switched from from erase mode. When using a keyboard, undo/redo are randomly registered twice, even when turning off the two finger gesture and maxing out the Rapid Undo Timing (and yes, I've verified this issue occurs with a bluetooth keyboard and a TourBox Elite Plus; it does not occur if using the touch gesture). Cut and Copy keyboard shortcuts do not respect a selection lasso and instead will capture the entire drawing in a frame. Entering Selection mode with the S key will randomly erase the entire drawing in the frame. Some frames enter a permanent state where brush strokes and erasing are just ignored. The color picker popover cannot be dismissed with the Back keyboard shortcut. Trying to rearrange track layers in the Flipbook timeline is very difficult. There is no easy way to transfer layers from one frame to another track. There is no keyboard shortcut to erase only what is in a selection. This is only possible using the scrub gesture. Both Procreate and Dreams need a MAJOR keyboard shortcut overhaul and quality assurance update.

Exit all apps and force restart your iPad. This can sometimes help with resolving app and iPad performance issues. Detailed steps for the force restart are device-specific and can be located in the Apple Support article (procre.at/restart).2. Check your iPad storage. Such behaviours can be caused by insufficient iPad storage. To find this information, go to iPad Settings > General > iPad Storage. If you're running low, please clear out around 15% of your total storage space for your iPad to run smoothly. If the issue persists after these steps, please head to Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data, then find the most recent Dreams-YYYY-MM-DD-HHMMSS.ips file (check the timestamp). Please make certain it is specifically an IPS (.ips) file with that exact formatting, then tap on it, tap the share icon, export the file and send it through to us via our Support Form (procre.at/support). We’ll help investigate further.- Brush size changes after swapping tools: this is currently expected. The Paint, Smudge, and Erase tools in Procreate Dreams share the same Brush Libraries, but operate individually. You can have different brush size memory points set for the same brush in each of these tools; Procreate will automatically switch to the size and opacity you last used with this brush in this particular tool. - Keyboard shortcut issues with copying & pasting selection and dismissing the Color Panel: these two are indeed known bugs we have in the app. We have them logged for improvement with our team already, and we will be sure to add your vote of support towards the fixes. This update frees your Flipbook. Pick it up and throw it around your screen. Make it smaller so you can focus on what you're drawing. There are also some handy improvements to your Timeline.
Vertical Flipbook
Move your Flipbook to the left or right to create a vertical timeline. Draw with one hand and flip through drawings with the other. Double tap the drag handle at any time to swap between compact and full-size Flipbook.
Next / previous drawing
There are two new buttons for jumping to the next or previous drawing, even if it's many held frames away. And you can hop straight to the start or end of your Flipbook by holding down.
Scrub lock
When your Flipbook is free, tap on the center of the scrub wheel to lock to the current frame. When you finish scrubbing it will snap back to the locked frame. Great for quickly checking against nearby frames.
Backstage visibility
When animating you're often scaling content that is larger than the Stage, or moving things onto the Stage. In Movie Settings -> Stage you can now increase the opacity of the content that extends past the Stage, so you can actually see what you're doing.
Multi-select reload
Just like in Drawing Selections, you can now hold the Multi-select button and restore your previous selection on the Timeline.
See your easings
Quickly see what easings your keyframes are using. The preset name will show up on the keyframe track of your active content.
Compose Flip and Reset
Tap on the ellipsis (...) button on the Compose bounding box to flip your content horizontally and vertically without impacting your keyframes. You can also reset your changes back to the original position, scale and rotation.
Did you know you can tap on the Performing tab and adjust the stabilization of your recordings?

Automatic Selection
Select areas of similar color by tapping and adjusting the threshold by panning the screen.

Alpha Lock
Tap on your active drawing layer and turn on Alpha Lock to affect only the pixels you have already painted on. Great for adding shading and highlights.

Transform Nudge
Move your content in small steps by tapping outside the bounding box in the direction you'd like to shift it.
Compose Snapping
When modifying the position, orientation, and scale of an object independent of keyframes, you can now snap to the edges and center of the stage, or rotate in 15º increments.
Advanced Warp Mesh
When drawing, add a node on every intersection of the warp mesh for more precise control.
Additive and Multi-channel Noise
In Drawing Filters create noise with color and across the entire paintable area.

This is a compatibility update to get you ready for everything new coming your way.
This update includes improvements to undo with the introduction of Recovery Points, and a few fixes to enhance performance.
• Ever lost the progress of your movie because you couldn’t redo? Three undo steps in a row followed by a new action will automatically create a Recovery Point to claim it back. Up to three Recovery Points will be saved for each movie in Movie Settings > History.
• Don’t panic if you accidentally delete your movie! Files will now appear in the Recently Deleted folder on your iPad for 30 days when deleted from the Theater.

It’s time to let loose with the new Apple Pencil Pro in Procreate Dreams.
This update has something for everyone! Lens Blur introduces a new way to create beautiful camera focus effects and bokeh, while brush cursor provides a way to make your strokes more precise than ever.
Procreate Dreams now supports barrel roll, squeeze and haptic feedback for Apple Pencil Pro, with features and functionality designed to reinvigorate your creativity.
Performing with barrel roll
With Performing, you can create animations by recording your actions while the movie plays. Now with barrel roll, you can move and rotate your object at the same time. You can switch this off in Movie Settings → Preferences.
Brush response with barrel roll
Use drag and drop to import your favourite Procreate brushes customized with barrel roll into Procreate Dreams.
Squeeze
Experience an uninterrupted workflow by using squeeze to play and pause your movie while you create and edit. Use squeeze with Loop Screen on your Timeline to keep you in the zone. You can switch this off in Movie Settings → Preferences by tapping on the Movie name.
Haptic feedback
Haptic feedback provides a more tactile experience when editing on the Timeline. Try trimming your content and feeling it snap to match other content.
Brush cursor
This well-loved Procreate feature is now available in Procreate Dreams. Use brush cursor to see the shape of your brush as you draw. With hover you can see a full color preview of your brush when painting, and a preview of what will be removed when erasing. Brush cursor settings can be personalized in Movie Settings → Preferences.
Lens Blur live filter
Add realistic bokeh and camera focus effects to your animations. Tap the Playhead and choose Filter → Lens Blur. Available on M1, M2, and M4 iPads. Please note, any files created in this version of Procreate Dreams cannot be opened in previous versions.
Recent undo steps
As well as customizing the total number of stored undo steps, you can now choose how many are distributed throughout your document history. Increase the Recent undo step percentage in Movie Settings → Preferences to keep as many of your latest actions as possible.

This update to Procreate Dreams introduces fixes and improvements, including customization for undo and redo.
Undo & Redo
• In Movie Settings -> Preferences you can now choose to have permanent Undo and Redo buttons on your Stage.
• You can also disable undo and redo tap and hold gestures.
• The default timing for Rapid Undo has been slowed down, but you can also adjust this in Movie Settings -> Preferences.

This update brings performance improvements and new features, including App Pressure and Smoothing, custom frame rates, and clipping masks in Drawing Layers.
Single frame drawings
- Cel animation just got easier. When you start a new drawing it is now one frame long. Long hold on the content and select 'Fill duration' to automatically extend the duration to fill the space until the next Content or end of track. Double tap to focus on your frames.
Custom frames per second
- You can now enter a custom frame rate when creating a new Movie, or when updating Movie properties for existing projects.
App Pressure and Smoothing
- Now in the Movie settings, customize your Pressure Curve, and add Stabilization and Motion Filtering to every brush stroke.
Clipping Masks in Drawing Layers
- Precisely control the visibility of your content by adding Clipping Masks to your Drawing Layers in Draw & Paint.
