Good but slightly inefficient; Bucket tool, copy paste, and layers need work
ALDIZNUTS HAHAHA
It’s a great app but I wish the copy and pasting was better. Whenever I copy and paste something, it pastes it on the center of the frame instead of the same place it was, which can be annoying for when I want to be precise or when I want something to me stationary without making a new track. There’s also no movable anchor points, which I feel like is really essential for an animation app. Additionally, when I try to rotate a selected drawing, half the time the drawing simply will not rotate.I find it really neat that each track can have its own layer, but a super frustrating shortcoming of this feature is the fact that the amount of layers don’t carry on across the track. If I want to color an animation, I have to manually make a layer for every frame. This really slows the process. I also think there should be more layer options. Even just an alpha lock feature will doSpeaking of coloring and layers, it’s a pain to color efficiently in this program. The bucket tool is really limited, as it doesn’t have sensitivity or an automatic gap protection filter. If I use a textured brush for lineart, the bucket tool will simply fill the entire frame. I also cannot duplicate a layer across all frames, so even if I do use a solid brush for lineart, I still can’t use the bucket tool to color. Also, the onion skin tool only shows a silhouette of the entire frame without details from other layers. This hinders my ability to animate detail work

Hi there — Thanks so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are currently investigating the behaviour that causes the pasted content to be in the centre of the stage, to hopefully improve this in a future update. We have also added your support vote for the requested idea of having editable Anchor points, and for the request of having improved options for colouring multiple Tracks. Alpha Lock for Layers is planned for a future update, along with many more improvements. 🌟Regarding the Onion skin options - if you would like the Onion skins to show the detail of the surrounding Frames, you can turn off the 'Color Tint' option from its settings, so it will only show the information of other Frames with a lower Opacity instead of a flat shape. This must be applied separately to the Onion skin settings for Tracks, and to the Onion skin settings in the Draw & Paint mode. - For more information on all the updated tools in the app, we recommend our official Handbook at procre.at/dreams-handbook — If you ever have future queries or suggestions about the Procreate apps, feel free to message us anytime via the Support Form at procre.at/support - it is our official channel, and we are always happy to help!🙏
Quite disappointed again
PlsADDquickshapedrawing
My writing skills aren't good, and English isn’t my first language so I used translation, there might be some awkward parts. It's become more complicated. Before, I could see the tracks, the screen, and the brush library all in one place, but now I have to press more buttons, which is inconvenient. I also think separating the flipbook and tracks was a very unfortunate decision. In fact, I don't understand why they even added the flipbook in the first place. The Drawing section has essentially become just a background section. Even that has become cumbersome to use for changing backgrounds. Why? Because after selecting the Drawing section and drawing, the track becomes very long. If you're creating an animation where the background remains constant from beginning to end, like in the example animations you've created, it might be fine, but if an animator wants to change the background frequently, this feature will be very inconvenient. Despite this, there are definitely some improvements. Adding the Select and Transform buttons was a great improvement. To be honest, and this is just my personal opinion, I think it would have been better if they had only added the Select and Transform features to the previous version. In summary, there are definitely more features than before, but the process of using those features is a bit complicated.

Confusing features
Maevanna
I’ve been using the original procreate app since 2018 and I’ve loved it - it’s easy to navigate (at least in my opinion, which may be biased since I’ve been using it so long), and it has all the features one could need without any “pro” features. The problem I have with dreams is that while it is similar to procreate, there’s features that I find unnecessarily difficult to manage. One example is that when I’m making an animation and I need to use the lasso tool to move something around, it’s incredibly hard to reverse that action thanks to the lasso tool hiding the undo button when being used, meaning that you can’t really undo anything. Another thing I find irritating is that in procreate original you can change the settings of whatever brush it is that you’re using, but this feature seems to have disappeared in dreams. Maybe it’s still there and I just haven’t figured out how to select it, but it’s frustrating that this app seems to lacks the ability to perform functions that its original version performed flawlessly. I still look forward to using dreams, and I hope that maybe eventually either through updates or simply better understanding, I’ll be able to use it to it’s full potential.

Hi Maevanna – Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us 🙏. While working in Procreate Dreams, although the Undo and Redo buttons are not visible in the Select tool, you can always use the two-finger tap gesture to Undo, or the three-finger tap to Redo. In case these gestures are not yet enabled in your app, while you are inside a project, go to Movie Settings (toggles button on top of the Timeline, beside the Theater button) > go to Prefs > Gestures > enable the option 'Undo and redo gestures'. — Regarding the Brush Studio, it is a feature for a dedicated painting app and is currently not planned to be included in Procreate Dreams. Our goal with Procreate Dreams is for it to be an individual product, but to also feel familiar so existing Procreate users can pick it up with ease. Because of this some tools have been brought over from Procreate to Procreate Dreams. To keep both products streamlined in what they are designed to do, some features will remain exclusive to Procreate and Procreate Dreams. However, all the feedback is important to us - the idea to include the Brush Studio in Procreate Dreams is listed as requested, and we have added your support vote to it; this will be seen directly by our development team. — We will keep working hard to improve all the Procreate apps further! - If you ever have future queries or suggestions about our apps, feel free to message us anytime via the Support Form at procre.at/support - it is our official contact channel, and we are always happy to help!
Flip book freezes while drawing and freezes app until i exit out and restart the app
ArtShuriken21
The 2.0 update for the flip book freezes when I draw on a converted group to flipbook frames. While drawing on the frame in flipbook mode it freezes the app and makes me restart the app to be able to go back to it. This happened multiple times and is making it harder for me to work on my current project.I would still like to have vector layers on Procreate Dreams and Procreate. I love how beginner friendly it is yet, I hate that when I zoom in a lot to add details that it pixelates, this makes it harder for me to add fine details to a character especially short characters. Please if it doesn’t cause major issues on the apps please add it, I am not the only person asking for this I found a thread made by someone else, asking for this with multiple likes to it in the Procreate community part of your website, so I am not alone on this matter. A good bit of fellow artists feels the same way I do, if you really care about your users, listen to us, and add vector layers! Trust me if you add vectors and vector layers to your apps you will get more users!
Developer Response
Hey ArtShuriken21 - Thank you very much for reaching out, and apologies for the delay in our response time. In terms of your suggestion regarding vector support, we appreciate the additional information you provided, but as we mentioned in the previous response, at this moment it does not align well with the direction we are heading. That said, we have noted down your support towards it and will be sure to bring it on board with our development team as a future development reference. As for the freezing issue, that sounds very strange and is definitely not expected behaviour. As a first troubleshooting approach, please try out the following steps and see if they help:1. Exit all apps and force restart your iPad. This can sometimes help with resolving app and iPad performance troubles. Detailed steps of the force restart are device-specific and can be located in this article (procre.at/restart).2. Check your iPad storage. Such behaviours can be caused by insufficient iPad storage. To find this information, go to iPad Settings > General > iPad Storage. If you're running low, please clear out around 10 to 15GB of space for your iPad to run smoothly. Let us know how you go with these steps. If the issue persists, please reach out to us directly via our support form (procre.at/support) and we’ll help investigate further. 🙏
This update includes 25 new fonts for customising your text, including brand new choices for Arabic, Hindi, Thai, and Japanese.
Did you know you can import your own fonts into Procreate Dreams? Just add them to your On My iPad → Procreate Dreams → Fonts folder.
