Travel Pal Jamaica is an application by the Transport Authority of Jamaica that empowers commuters to verify Jamaica’s Public Transportation licences and operators of those licences and will also allow the commuters to create trip information and share this information with family and loved ones. If in the event of an emergency while on the trip, the app will allow for a panic button press that will send an emergency SOS request to loved ones or specific contacts.
- Added OCR licence plate scanning to quickly capture plate numbers using the camera or manual entry.
- Licence details are now validated against the Transport Authority database before trip creation.
- Trips allowed for licences expired within 90-day grace period; trips blocked if expired over 90 days or vehicle not found.
- UI update: Removed the Drive Safe App link from the Welcome screen.
