Music can alter the way we feel, the way we think, and the way we see the world. It has the power to lighten our mood, make us feel inspired, or even be there when we most need it. Music is something we search for until we find the perfect match; however, what if there was a way to make the music find us.
Muse functions as a personalized music recommendation system that provides songs to users based on their current emotional state. Our questionnaire gauges users' current mental wellbeing and recommends a song accordingly. The questions in Muse were carefully crafted based on DSM-5 evaluations. It was important to rephrase questions to make sure they were approachable.
Beyond the music distribution aspect of the app, Muse serves as a form of digital connection, where users can share their music to the community feed. Muse cultivates an inclusive, engaging community of music listeners who share how their songs have helped their mental wellbeing. Muse is also dedicated to bringing light to international music. The arts span across numerous cultures and communities, and we strive to offer everyone a platform to share how their music has helped them!
