Will they fly today?
Every ant colony waits for the perfect day - then fills the sky with winged queens on their nuptial flight. Ant keepers wait for the same day. This app tells you when it's coming.
THE ANT FLIGHT INDEX
Instead of a meaningless percentage, every day gets a clear rating - No-fly, Quiet, Watchful, Promising or Prime - based on how today's weather compares with years of historical days at your latitude and time of year. Prime means the top ~10% of days in your season: drop everything and get outside.
HONEST ODDS
"About 1 in 7 days like this see a reported flight." Calibrated against thousands of real sightings - never a made-up probability.
HOUR BY HOUR
Flight confidence for the next 24 hours, the best three-hour window to go looking, and the week ahead at a glance.
WHY THIS FORECAST?
Full transparency: see exactly how temperature, wind, humidity, cloud, rain and pressure moved today's rating - straight from the model, no hand-waving.
POWERED BY ANT KEEPERS
The forecast is a machine-learning model trained on 10,000+ real flight reports from users worldwide. Report a sighting (or "I looked - no flights") and you make it smarter for everyone.
ALSO IN THE BOX
- Prime-day notifications - only when it matters
- Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets
- Live map of recent sightings near you
- Which queen size is in season (small / medium / large)
- Dark mode, C/F units, and 13 languages
- Free and open source. No ads, no tracking.
Made by an ant keeper, for ant keepers - and for anyone who has ever wondered why the sky is suddenly full of flying ants.
The new update is awesome. The work that’s gone into this is really phenomenal. The predictions are helpful insight. No model will ever be perfect. This app simply gives you another tool in your arsenal to try to catch your queens. It is a well designed piece of kit that deserves recognition for sure and the latest update is fantastic.
App suggestion.

Could you possibly add a notification feature when you can tell the app to alert you when the chance of nuptial flights is over a certain percentage set by the user?
Good game but…
oiio_1234
I wish we could receive a notification to when it is like above 75% chance of nuptial flight or something like that and like a guide to what is the best way of each weather part like air pressure or humidity
Cool app

Cool app but wish you could see any day through the past to see what occurred on that day
Nearby flight reports now load faster, with improved reliability for the map and notifications. Includes the new in-app language selector.
