Pay to win garbage outside of the normal levels

This game is fun, too bad that arenas are essentially pay to win scummy garbage. You get around 2-3 wins in and then it’s just some schmuck with a 24 damage 26 defense card when you’re about 5 days into the game. You NEED to put money into this dumpsterfire of an app just to break even in arenas. Even after culling my deck the best I could I can’t get past 8 stars. It’s complete and total trash and I recommend avoiding arenas like the plague unless you want to have your teeth kicked down your throat everytime. It’s worse when you play the normal levels and they’re almost TOO easy. This game is fun but it’s only fun if you spend money on it like every other crappy big name mobile game. And for the developer saying that they’re trying to make the game better; everyone playing knows you barely care, you just want the money you scummy bunch of mud-eating worms. You’ve been giving the same cookie cutter response for over a year and if it hasn’t changed since then, I think that’s a huge sign.

Excellent Concept, Absolutely Infuriating

This game is summed up perfectly with the title. It’s so hard to progress without paying money, even though the researching combos is my favorite part of the game, when I actually try and play the game it’s just throwing yourself at a wall over and over and hoping you can beat the boss. Your health doesn’t last long enough to deal with the bosses 99% of the time, and when you get that 1% odds of actually getting them down to no health, they get you down to no health too, and tie. Now that’s not so bad, right? Wrong. It counts as a loss, and you have to grind to make it a win, which costs your abilities. It’s just absolutely ridiculous to try and beat this game. Make sure you have patience and don’t get heated by games, because you’ll need the patience of a saint to get anywhere in this game. Or alternatively, the wallet of Jeff Bezos. All in all, this game is a pathetic cash grab with a genuinely good concept as the cover for it. It’s such a shame to see a good concept go to waste, as a game developer myself, I can see that there was passion put in at one point, but that passion has died. Some serious change is needed to make this game as good as it could be. But with the highly toxic landscape of mobile games, change is unlikely. I’m not getting my hopes up. But there’s a hope this game can become less pay to win. In a thousand years maybe.

Love it! But needs changes

TL;DR: Good game if you can power through and have patience, but needs changes. Current gameplay is repetitive, slow, rarely rewarding, and the main attraction (combos) is locked behind pay walls and an absurd amount of gameplay time before significant progress is actually made.

The game is really fun, and the concept is very cool. But I have to be honest; if it weren’t for the nostalgic factor of reminiscing what it was like to play this game years ago, I wouldn’t keep it downloaded. I think with a few changes the game could see massive improvement. When upgrading cards, I wish it applied to every card with the same name instead of just individuals. The simple tradeoff would just be making upgrades more expensive, giving players another reason to grind. Secondly, I do agree that research either needs to have more slots (even just one more) or be a little faster. The attraction of this game is the combos, but until you put in some serious hours (and upgrade your cards with dust, which takes forever when you have to upgrade duplicates too) you can’t do more than a handful. I understand like most pay-to-win IOS games, progress is meant to be fast in the beginning, and slow and frustrating later on, but the progress here isn’t even fast in the beginning.
