Studied for a couple hours every day and right before taking my test. The questions on the prep test gave explanations and outlined where in the book you could find the answers. I usually don’t right reviews for any apps but seeing as how I passed I felt like I needed to

Functions in a tablet fine. The demand for a review gets annoying when it repeatedly comes up in the middle of your question studies. During exam exercises you get questions from other states that actually say it’s for another state. You will get the same exact question multiple times in the same exam session. The grammar needs cleaned up in several questions. While no developer probably has access to any state test bank there is a level at which some of these questions are worded to throw you off and that’s not the intent of state testing exams. They want to know if you understand the content of a specific subject, not if you have the mental capacity to unwind their twisted question to make sense of it, then answer the question. Pictures sometimes come up blurry with no real purpose related to the questions. The app has a great format and layout. Needs a button within each question so you can report problems with the question. IMO - I don’t feel it’s worth paying for beyond the free trial.

The language in some questions/answers is sometimes grammatically incorrect, sometimes to the point of obscuring the meaning. Tests often use the same questions repeatedly. As an example, many of the Basic Skills test (20 questions) used the same two (2) questions for more than half the test. Effectively reducing the value of study to a limited subset. Test/practice questions never vary the order of answers, which effectively (mis)trains you to respond with the position of the right answer rather than paying attention to content… needless to say, the “real” test doesn’t work that way. You could well find yourself conditioned to select a response based on its sequence rather than content.

After reading the NYS cdl drivers course book cover, to cover I downloaded this app to quiz myself. After several attempts and failing a majority of the questions for NYS, I realized I was correct and the app was wrong. I have screenshotted the wrong answers and taken pictures directly from my book with the correct answers listed clearly. But no photos allowed on this review apparently. Anyway- don’t waste your time, I will be expecting a full refund as I only had it for 3 days and now am more confused then I was prior to the app about which info is real. If you made it this far into the review- do yourself a favor, google cdl book audio, there are 2024 editions of every state cdl booklet in audio version for audible challenged individuals (such as myself) and they simply read the book to you word for word.
