I got the app this morning for a test tomorrow morning, I added screenshot of a power point and made flashcards, you start with 15 hearts (it’s actually a lot) and it’s not just flip over flash cards they’re actually challenging! You start with 5 hints, which will cross off one of the four options they give you. My FAVORITE, part of the app is the “Explain,” section, the explain section pulls information directly from the PowerPoint/screenshot uploaded and explains why the answers that answer, and if you don’t understand you can ask questions. This app is truly a blessing, I’ll edit my review tomorrow and let you know how I do and see if the app helped! 11/10 recommend, I spent the price to become unlimited (there’s a student discount) so I can continuously study. Definitely worth it!

Im a grad student going for his doctorates and I have not found a better studying app worth my time than Gizmo. The time I have saved using the ai feature to make flash cards has made my studying 100x more efficient. The overall concept behind the app is amazing and I am grateful for the creators of it! However, having used another flashcard program called Anki I would say that the only area Gizmo struggles to compete in is the active recall component. Whenever I am studying a deck with over 100+ cards, I notice the program struggles to give me older cards and keeps repeating the same ones even though I’m guessing them correctly. I believe the spaced repetition should be better tuned to bring up older cards faster so that I don’t have to wait 30 days whenever I guess a card right 3 times in a row because I guarantee you I will not be guessing that correctly a month from now and starting out that card cycle all over again. Where as a program like Anki will have you see that same card a day from now, then maybe 3 days then 10 days and so on. The only other thing I would say could make the app perfect is having more options when it comes to selecting the type do flash cards you want to like “mixed” “true or false” etc. Gizmo has 2 options, either mix all of them or only 1 other type a time which I think is a flaw because sometimes I only want to do certain types but I want more than one and not all of them if that makes sense. Other than that I truly do love the app I’ve been using to study for my state board exams and I feel confident in my ability to pass them with Gizmo!

Wanna give it a 5, but sometimes there’s glitches that aggravate me. It has some of the best features imaginable for someone that has adhd and it truly makes studying fun and simple. However I’ve noticed a few bugs here and there and there’s a couple of suggestions I have in terms of the way the app uses information and things within the app. Biggest bug I’ve noticed is sometimes when I’m scrolling thru my decks trying to change an image or a definition, sometimes it just jumps back to the top before I can even scroll to the bottom. That’s the biggest one right now. Other than that, sometimes it asks questions based on something on the flash card and it creates a question with information I haven’t studied yet. For example I’m learning about cranial bones and the features of those bones, but the app keeps asking me questions about the specific nerves within those features. And again I learn about that stuff at the end of the semester, but if I press the chat button and say I haven’t learned about nerves yet, it’ll either ask me about a different feature and a different nerve, or it’ll skip the thing entirely. One of my suggestions is that you add something within flash card decks to enter in information that you haven’t learned about or things you know it doesn’t need to ask you questions about yet. That would be spectacular. One more thing is varying questions on gizmo live. I’ve played numerous games of gizmo live and I LOVE the feature. Only thing is that I wish it would switch up the questions. I’ve noticed it asks the same questions every time if you’re using the same deck. Could be nice if it switched things up after every game, or even came up with several rounds and each round had different sections of the deck you were using. Idk I’m not an app designer at all but again so far this is my FAVORITE app to use right now. Thanks so much for everything you’ve done, you guys are the reason I’m passing hard classes.

I can't lie, when I use Gizmo to study it's extremely helpful. I'm able to easily recall what I've learned from this app on my test. But ever since I've used the app I've noticed certain lags and the app simply crashing. Recently, I've been working on making a deck for my permit test coming up and it's been extremely glitchy. At first it was just the app sometimes resetting when I spent a bit too long on a different app (looking at what answer to right for the card). Now it will go to a never-ending loading screen, go back to the homepage, crash, or just not let me add the question after going to the homepage causing me to restart the app. Also, the app is based on ai (as stated in the title) I'm not a fan of ai but I can't deny it was helpful this previous school year. Especially when I didn't feel like typing the cards myself. But it's the only time I use ai. I might delete the app because of the ai usage but the app itself is extremely helpful and the design is nice.
