Select video and audio sources independently, with automatic format detection for optimal quality. Choose a format preference — Hardware Default, Best Quality, or Best Performance — to match your setup; Best Performance intelligently caps frame rate to reduce latency and processing overhead, even on capture cards locked to a fixed high frame rate. The app prevents screen savers and automatically hides the cursor during idle periods for an uninterrupted viewing experience, with an optional on-screen overlay showing the current device, volume, and format at a glance.

I spent a few hours trying to get OBS to work because I wanted to be able to use my MacBook as a screen for the Switch 2. Tried other apps, nothing worked. Then I came across this and also found the blog page with detailed explanations. Downloaded it and was up and running within seconds. You can set input, volume and format, including 4K. You’ll have to make sure your capture card has those capabilities. A big thank you to the developer!!

This app is exactly what it looks like, you select your video and audio input, you can change the volume, and that’s absolutely it.I have an Elgato HD60x which supports many resolutions at different framerates, but Capture Passthru has no way of choosing resolution or framerate. By default, it looks like it’s capturing at 30fps. I’d love for the dev to add a tiny bit more functionality.
