GeoGami is an app for creating and playing map-based games, designed specifically for use in educational institutions. The development of the app is scientifically supervised and didactically conceptualised by the Institute for Geoinformatics at the University of Münster.
GeoGami focuses on fostering competencies in map-based navigation, i.e. the ability to self-localise, to locate objects on the map, and to interpret map orientation. The creator of a game can choose from various task types and support players by enabling or disabling map features (such as position display, marking of objects in the surrounding area, etc.). Furthermore, GeoGami can also be used to create thematic games, rallies, and digital field trips.
