The Plotter keeps growing.
Offline polar data, a draggable anchor, and smarter GPS tracking join the expanded side panel in a release built for use underway.
The Plotter:
Swipe through three dedicated side panel pages: a Radial Gauge for live instrument readings, your boat's Polar diagram, and a Trim Advice view. The carousel loops infinitely and indicator dots stay permanently visible. Nine widgets are available: Distance to Next and Last Waypoint, ETA and estimated travel time to both, Course Over Ground to the next waypoint, current time, and a Logbook Status field with direct tap-through to your logbook. The Trim Advice page includes a quick Sailing Mode button. Polar data loads from the Hub over WiFi with no sign-in required.
Also new:
- Smarter ruler: passed waypoints no longer draw a misleading line back to your position
- Logbook entries now show an inline text preview at a larger text size
- Data field picker shows consistent labels matching the widgets
- 10 m option added to the anchor alarm radius picker
- Drag your anchor point on the chart to reposition the alarm zone
- Improved GPS outlier detection for cleaner tracks and more accurate distances
- Export the raw NMEA 2000 data stream from your Hub for support troubleshooting
Bug fixes:
- Fixed: ruler dock point was rendering above the boat icon instead of behind it

Version 1.39.0 — The Plotter
Smartboatia was never meant to be a navigation system. But when you combine live boat data, sea charts, and a real-time map in one place, the next step writes itself.
NEW: The Plotter
A dedicated navigation screen with live instrument tiles right next to the chart. Opens automatically when you connect to your Hub. Includes a distance measuring tool: draw a multi-segment ruler, dock it to your GPS position, and instantly see distance, bearing, and ETA per leg based on your current speed.
Also new:
- Animated GPS route replay — relive any trip and share it as a #sailorsgram post
- Standalone note entries in your logbook (whale sightings, groundings, anything worth remembering)
- Your own boats and Boat Buddy boats are now clearly separated on the Connect screen
- Logbook entries with photos load faster
Bug fixes:
- Map not showing in some situations after a previous update: fixed
- Offline sea chart downloads stalling at 0% with no error: fixed
- Water depth missing from live sensor readings: fixed
- Trim advice now stops when the boat is no longer sailing
- Inline logbook edits made on the Hub now save correctly
- SOG, COG and other abbreviations display consistently in Remote Monitoring
