I am disappointed in Zynga. They are one of the best for games, graphics, etc. However I’m pretty sure the game is rigged as all the backgammon games are. But I do know a rather shoddy thing that Zynga does. If you click on a $500 game you get a message that says you are too good for this game and you are immediately locked into a $100,000 game. This has happened to me twice. Like all games, all they want is to keep you watching their videos, keep you playing and make money. I understand that. But it would be wonderful to find a straight company out there.

Update on review:The game has gone from rigged to just outright theft of your money. Now on top of paying for coins (because if you don’t you lose) they have added advertisements. Even for something as minor as redeeming the 375 coins you get every four hours. BTW, the minimum game is 1000 coins. Then if you buy more, they prohibit you from playing games at a lower coin bet than they think you should. For example, if you buy a million coins and want to play the 5000 coin game, they won’t let you. They make you play the 50,000 coin game. So why buy more. Now they have made another update to rip you off. If you log in everyday you get a bonus. Twice in a week you get a free 2500 coin game and a free 5000 coin game. However, now they have put a time limit on using the free game! This is ridiculous and the loss of players is probably why they have started charging for everything and added advertisements. The game works fine and it is fun to play what appears to be real people. What you have to understand though is that the game is engineered so that you have to constantly buy coins. I can understand a game that needs to pay their engineers. However this game is setup so that if it has been two weeks without a purchase you will lose consistently so you run out of coins. In addition, you don’t win all the comics bet. Only ninety percent gross or 80% net. So if you win a game and lose a game you are net down on coins.

This game isn’t terrible but I really don’t like the payout structure. If you quit before you have a checker off the board you are charged at least a gammon(you lose double stakes) but your opponent would only receive single stakes winnings. Also let’s say you’re at a 250k table, you have 8 million in your bank and your opponent has zero left in his. If you gammon your opponent you get 250k minus 10% but if you’re opponent gammons you they 500k minus 10%. The dice are not the greatest but that’s all online dice imo. The statistical info presented isn’t great but better than most mobile backgammon apps. Not a fan of having to email any complaints or to report any players or bugs, there should be an in game messaging service for this, or just a way to flag a game for dev review. Don’t like a lot of the themed boards especially at the lower tables. Don’t like that there are minimum stakes when there are plenty of player of similar ratings to play. For example I can’t play at a table lower than 250k until my bank gets lower even though there are plenty of player of skill level playing lower money tables.

I’ve played backgammon for years n years ( actual board game) I consider myself pretty good and competitive. After loving this app for several wks now I’m convinced most players are bots. Never a picture on profile and no name just initials EVERYTIME I get in a good position to win my opponent ALWAYS ALWAYS rolls double 6’s. 3 doubles sixes in a row. Back to back games this has happened. I predicted it and had my hubs watch and sure enough. They always seem to roll exactly what they need to get me and most of the time they’re all piled up so I can’t get out. Hey App developers… do you have to be so obvious? Why can’t I choose the player I want to play? Why do you choose that for me? The algorithm stinks on this one! Graphics are good but this game is frustrating so I’m done with it. Gin Rummy plus at least gives you options of choosing your opponent’s and you can actually chat briefly w ppl. Profile pictures make me know it’s a real person. If you like to lose to Bots then thus game is for you! I recently went to look at reviews Lo n behold most reviews have confirmed what I suspected. What a waste of my time!!! Deleting today!!!
