You say where, we say when! Photo Scout is your intelligent photography location assistant, scouting out your spots to tell you exactly when that perfect photo opportunity comes around. You’ll never miss the perfect sunset again!
Unlike many other apps, Photo Scout is designed to be proactive - instead of having to check it every day, you'll get push notifications when opportunities arise, and you can add widgets to keep an eye on things right from your home screen.
It’s for anyone who loves to be creative with a camera — be it an iPhone, DSLR/mirrorless camera, drone, film camera, or anything else!
• If you love to travel, Photo Scout lets you enjoy your time away on that once-in-a-lifetime trip instead of spending it manually checking conditions. For the frequent traveller, the Instant Inspiration feature makes things even simpler by analysing the conditions at a chosen location and giving intelligent photo suggestions with just a couple of taps.
• If you love a good sunset, sunset vibrancy requirements are for you. Perfect for that romantic bucket list trip!
• If you love to fly drones, Photo Scout lets you fly safely with wind speed requirements.
• If you love the night sky, Photo Scout lets you capture the cosmos with cloud cover, aurora, sunlight cycle, and moon requirements.
• If you're a videographer or multi-day shooter, the opportunity chart feature helps keeps shots consistent by showing all upcoming opportunities for scenes over the coming days.
No matter what kind of photography you do, stop checking multiple apps every day and let Photo Scout do the work for you! You tell us where, we tell you when.

Wonderful app, but really tired of all these scammy subscriptions. One time purchase maybe I’ll get it again, but for now deleted.
Developer Response
We're glad you like Photo Scout! We'd love to offer a non-subscription option just like our other apps, but the core functionality of this app is that it checks things continuously for you behind the scenes - since data sources like weather cost money every time they're accessed, the only sustainable way for us to do that is via some sort of recurring subscription.
Limited

The only way I've found to deactivate a "Scene" is a hack, make "It's snowing" a requirement in the middle of summer. Incessant notifications from scenes that you're not using otherwise. Too much time was spent on the candy interface and not enough on functionality. I've canceled my subscription. Posting here is the only way to get customer support.
Developer Response
You can turn off notifications for a scene by turning off the two switches for notifications in the scene’s detail panel - no “hack” needed. There’s also a button to contact customer support directly at the top of the help section of the app, as well as an email address in the help section of our website. We understand being frustrated with an app, but both of your complaints here are outright fabrications. Please consider contacting developers directly for help in the future - reviews like this are very harmful to indie developers like us, especially when they're not truthful.
Looks promising

But I flatly refuse to pay a subscription. I rather have a stripped down access where I can plan where the setting sun might be over a lake and such. I don’t need constant monitoring. I would pay a nominal flat one time fee for such a feature but until then…DELETED.
Developer Response
Thanks for your review! We're a small business building innovative apps we think users will love, monetised in a sustainable way to make sure we can evolve and improve them over time. Right now, a cheap app stripped of features isn't sustainable. Maybe one day!
This update adds support for iOS and iPadOS 27.
