Love this game but….

I absolutely love this game but it glitches too much and I’m tired of having to restart a level or close the game entirely because it doesn’t want to calculate when I’ve finished a level. I also updated the game and have yet to see the new level designs (I’m on level 840) which is disappointing. Also, I’m not sure why to spend the money you earn in the game to increase the profit of your balls or increase the amount of balls in general because I still end up with the same amount each time. I don’t get the vortex at the end of each level either. Clearly you will not make it to the vortex because you never have enough at the end. I’ve made it all the way to 75 and there’s probably hundreds before reaching the vortex. And because of these issues that’s why I’m only giving it 4 stars. Fix these issues then I will change it to 5 stars.

It could be better.

I purchased the option to remove ads just so I have a time waster, the three starts are for the fact that it is indeed a time waster. BUT, if you like the idea of progression, you may want to skip this. Upgrades don’t feel like upgrades, and they really don’t seem to make you any more powerful. There’s also a leaderboard with names which seemed cool, until I realized that there’s no profile option in the settings. So I’m assuming the leaderboard is just a list of generated names to make it feel like you’re getting ahead… As far as glitches, there’s a few VERY frustrating glitches that make this a deal breaker. Wrong camera angle when going down curves (which doesn’t correct), going too fast through the finish line doesn’t register chain breaks and causes the balls to just “float” aimlessly. Combo reset is based on time and not consecutive ball hits (how strange). And the worse is it’s very common for the end of a round not to register, forcing you to restart. Just a few tweaks and glitch corrections could make this worth it.

Potential is there, but lacking so far.

The concept is nice and simple enough. Yay! Bright colors as the balls pop! But the implementation needs work.

First, the game takes over the audio. I love to listen to podcasts or music when I play games like this. That’s not an option because the app always shuts down whatever else is going on. The only way to listen is if you’re using an external device you can press play on after opening this game.

Then there are the upgrades. You can keep upgrading, but the effect stops after so many levels. And just into the 20s, so it doesn’t take long to max them out. There’s no reason the cash should top at at 2.1, that stuff is worthless anyways as all you can spend it on is these upgrades that quickly become worthless. I get the app probably couldn’t handle 100 balls popping out every time, so I understand the logistical reason to limit it to about 25, but at least let the score and combos go up with the upgrade.

Speaking of combos, there’s no reason they should be scored by time. A combo shouldn’t end because the balls go over a ramp. The combos should be based on how many balls you pop on each shot. Especially since they appear to be nothing other than flashy lights and one of 4 or 5 scripts that pop up.

This can be a fun little eye-candy time waster, but it needs some work.
