Welcome to the biggest update to your library yet! We’ve been hard at work building new ways for you to manage your book collection. Here is what is new: • Smarter, Faster Scanning: The text scanner you rely on just got a massive upgrade. Point your devices camera to effortlessly pull titles, authors, and ISBNs with incredible precision—while simultaneously capturing perfectly deskewed book covers. • Improved Book Search: New books can now be added just by searching by titles or authors. Preview book descriptions before adding them to your library. • Pin Your Favorites: Never lose track of your current read. You can now pin books directly to the top of your library for instant access. Sort and filter also has a new UI design with buttons to easily filter your library exactly how you want it. • Refined UI & Animations: We’ve added a fresh layer of polish throughout the app. As you scroll through book descriptions and details, covers now elegantly fade into view, making browsing your catalog feel smoother than ever. Your book library now has a new compact view to show more of your books. Some UI bugs have also been squashed. • Faster iCloud Syncing: We've upgraded how your library communicates with the cloud. Changes you make are now synced to iCloud faster and more reliably in the background. • Desktop-Class Navigation: We’ve improved iPadOS menu bar support. Connect a keyboard or use the system menus at the top of your screen to quickly add books or navigate your library with desktop-level efficiency. • Under-the-Hood Improvements: We've modernized the app's core foundation. By transitioning to a more efficient layout system, the app is now lighter, faster, and more responsive than ever. • To take full advantage of the latest Apple technologies—including our supercharged scanning engine and modern UI architecture—this update requires iOS 26 (and iPadOS 26) or later. We've made some UI and under the hood changes with purchasing a subscription. Subscribing is now smoother and automatically returns back to the book library immediately after a subscription is purchased.

We've made some under the hood performance enhancements with widgets. Widgets should now be more responsive when finishing a book or updating you've read today. We've added a new widget for showing books currently being read and the reading progress for each book, as well as a new large widget charting how many books you've read each month of the year and your reading goal progress. We've added a new section in stats showing the last book you finished. Free users now have a progress bar showing how many books are left to be added before a subscription is required. Subscribing is easier as well with a button at the bottom of the book library. We've also fixed a possible bug where the prior reading streak gets incorrectly changed.

We've made some under the hood enhancements and improved syncing over iCloud. Widgets have been updated with a new UI that look great in both light and dark mode. Widgets also now more reliably update. Fixed a bug where searching with a book without an author may crash the app. Updated the launch screen UI with a new gradient.

We've made a few under the hood performance enhancements and squashed the following bugs: -Fixed a UI bug when updating a books reading progress -Fixed a bug where the prior reading streak might incorrectly get changed -Fixed a bug when adding multiple books and changing the amount of copies owned

We fixed a possible UI bug in the book library where selecting a book may have caused incorrect animations of a books title. Books also now show their reading status in the book library. We also fixed a bug when changing the amount of paperback copies showed incorrectly as two books instead of one when adding a new book.

We've updated the UI for changing your reading progress of a book. Now easily change if you're reading a copy you own or a borrowed copy. We've also updated the UI for the books in progress tab.

We updated the UI for book covers when viewing a book's description or details. We also made an update for iOS 26 users so the books title and authors show in the top navigation bar. We also fixed the following bugs: -Fixed a UI bug when selecting a book from the book library or completed tab -Fixed a books description incorrectly not showing when a cover isn't saved -Fixed authors may not be showing in a books description

We fixed a bug where marking a book as finished may have caused a crash. We also fixed a UI bug on the iPhone Air for books in progress where text size may have been incorrect.

We've fixed a few bugs and UI issues: -Fixed when reading multiple books the incorrect book selected may show up -Fixed a UI issue with typing author names -Fixed a possible crash when the app first loads -Fixed tab subtitles not automatically updating on the iPhone -Fixed UI bug with date selection settings

We've been busy over the summer updating the UI for iOS 26 and iPadOS 26, making BookDragon feel like a whole new app! BookDragon has a new app icon, designed to look great in light, dark, clear, or tinted modes. Search has been completely updated with a new UI and moved to the bottom tab bar for iOS users, so finding books in your library is easier than ever. Progress bars have an updated UI for reading progress and goals. Widgets have an updated UI for reading streaks and goals in light mode. You can now add the number of paperback and hardcover copies for all your books. Book notes now support different fonts, sizes, style, and other formatting options such as bullets. These options are also available with the menu bar in iPadOS 26. iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 are the new minimum operating system requirements. We've also made some under the hood performance enhancements and fixed the following bugs: -Fixed in search and books in progress tabs where an incorrect book may be brought up when tapped -Fixed the sort and filter buttons in the library and finished tabs to always stay visible, even if no books are viewable -Fixed where editing a book loaned may have caused an endless loop of alerts

We fixed a bug where the books finished tab may not have loaded the correct book detail or reading history. We also made a few UI fixes with widgets for reading streaks and amount of books read.

We've updated the UI in the tabs for books in progress, finished books, and statistics. Detailed book library statistics are now free for everyone, so easily view what types of books are in your library, number of TBR, values, and number of signed copies and books on your wishlist. We also fixed a UI bug for marking a book as being read or finished.

The number of pages for eBooks can now be added, in addition to physical copies. Audio time for books can also now be added in hours and minutes.  We've updated searching so you can choose to search either by titles or by authors. The UI has also been updated for searching books, as well as adding authors. A bug was fixed where widgets may not have updated correctly when books were finished. We've also made a a few under the hood performance enhancements.

We've added the following UI enhancements: -Sort and filter options have a new look in the main book library and finished books tab -Picking a random book to read has been moved to the main book library tab -The prior reading streak is now automatically saved and shown. -New look in settings for reading streaks and transfer options. We also made some under the hood performance enhancements and fixed a bug where widgets might not automatically update after finishing a book.

We've squashed some bugs and made the following UI enhancements: -Books currently being read have a new button in the reading section to mark a book finished -The finished books section has a new layout and button for editing prior reading details -New icon has been added in a book's detail showing whether you loved, liked, disliked, or have a book on your wishlist -For subscribers, new layout for viewing the books you've read in the month selected as well as the average pages read or listened per day -Fixed a bug where updating the date a book was finished may not have correctly updated the monthly stats read -Fixed a bug where marking a book from a new read to a re-read may not correctly update -Fixed a bug when changing the reading streak in settings may not correctly update in the reading in progress tab -Some under the hood performance enhancements

We've fixed some bugs and made the following enhancements: -New UI for marking a book currently being read, editing a books info, and adding new books -For iPads, the currently reading tab can now be removed on iPadOS 18 -Fixed a possible crash when opening the app -Fixed a possible crash when searching for a book by ISBN and no author is found -Some under the hood performance improvements

Some bugs have been squashed for the new year: --Fixed where adding a new book could cause a crash --Fixed where dates possibly could incorrectly show the wrong calendar year --Fixed a stats issue where reading stats didn't automatically reset in a new calendar year

We fixed a bug where taking a cover photo caused a crash. Adding books now also checks by ISBN if a book is already in your library and prevents adding duplicate ISBN numbers.

Just a few small UI updates with the books in progress section. The update progress button has been moved next to the reading progress bar and we've also updated the audio time format.

We've added the following features and hunted down more pesky bugs: --Books in your library are now searchable directly in Spotlight --Books being read for the first time can now be changed as either new or re-reads while you're reading --Fixed a bug where the app could possibly crash when opening a book currently being read from your library --A few UI updates for your books in progress, home screen widgets in dark mode, and lock screen widgets New for iOS and iPadOS 18 users: --New dark mode and tinted app icon --Home screen widgets have been updated to support tint --New larger reading streak widget, including a button directly in the widget to update your reading streak --New control center buttons --Fixed an iOS 18 bug where books could disappear in the background when updating the reading progress or viewing book details

We have a new look and feel in iPadOS 18! Easily navigate with a new tab bar at the top of the screen, as well as change the order of your tabs. When using your iPad in landscape, we have a new sidebar, with the option to hide your finished books view. Search has also been moved to always be accessible no matter which tab you're in. We've also added the following features and updates: --Additional chart that shows the number of pages you've read every month --Your reading streak is now fully editable in Settings --A few UI updates for searching books, as well as for paid users selecting monthly stats and changing the year displayed --Some under the hood performance enhancements to make using the app even better!

--Fixed a bug where pressing the reset reading goal option didn't remove the saved goals For subscribers, we've updated the UI for choosing monthly and yearly statistics. Now viewing your stats is easier to select with new popup sheet selection options. We've also done some under the hood performance enhancements so viewing your monthly stats should be smoother when scrolling.

--Fixed a possible crash when viewing the reading amounts for a book or updating the reading status

Keeping track of your reading stats is important and we've added some new features to help: --Added option to export all of your reading stats, or just the reading stat from each book --Added option to reset all of your book stats to just the books currently in your library --New UI for your reading history in each book to show every type read and whether it was borrowed or owned --Edit your books reading history or delete reading occurences --Added option to delete all the reading history for each book
