Real Deep is a combination of deep learning ML/AI technologies and computer vision heuristics tuned to run on your Apple device. You can make movies with Real Deep on iPhones and iPads made in the last 4 years, and on any Mac with ARM-based silicon. For real-time face swaps, a device released within the last 2 years is recommended. For face swap videos in 4K, a device with at least 6GB of memory is recommended. When you run the app for the first time, a one-time request is sent to Apple's servers to provision the app. Afterwards, Real Deep fully functions in airplane mode because it does not send your media to any servers for processing. Real Deep has been meticulously engineered from the ground up to operate in an offline and privacy-preserving manner.

Using on an M4 iPad Pro with paid video upgrade. It seems to do maybe a 30% blend of the new face image - i.e. it still looks mostly like the original face. Not sure if the AI would benefit from multiple source images, but I had really hoped the app would have had the ability to render a whole new face in the video. And no support online, no discussion forum, tips etc.

I really liked this app but now it can only do 4-second clips? Why the change? Unfortunately, it’s not worth the money anymore.EDITMy mistake. The 4-second limit was before I restored my purchase. This app is a great value being a one-time purchase. I recommend highly.

I tried the free version, and it did as advertised. On the basis of its representation that the pay version unlocks 4k video, I paid for the real-time deepfake. The quality is still poor, especially around the eyes and mouth. I used a high-res photo to deepfake a high-res video clip. The result was a working deepfake, but of sub-par quality. The look was rough. I run this on an iPhone 14 Pro Max. Hardware isn’t the issue. Other apps offer much sharper face swapping but with some limitations. I’m going to pass on the one time, forever unlock of unlimited video. If the quality of this app improves, I would reconsider. Also, it would be nice if there were an option to hide the UI.

Works really well if you have a good reference to swap. Love that it does all the work locally and in real time. Couple wishes though:-batch swapping would be a big time saver -having the Mac app work on older Intel Macs would be nice -swapping the whole head instead of the face but I understand the difficulty here Great app and would recommend for some fun videos.
