Track, hear and find your model aircraft. BMK Model Locator is the companion app for the BMK FlexiDisplay GPS locator system, including the new FlexiDisplay Yello hand unit.
This app is not standalone. It needs a BMK FlexiDisplay hand unit and BMK GPS beacons. The hand unit receives your beacons by radio and passes their data to your phone over Bluetooth Low Energy.
NEW: VOICE ALERTS
Keep your eyes on the sky. The app speaks the important things in a clear British English voice, works without mobile data and keeps talking with the screen locked.
• Warnings for beacon battery, signal lost and regained, GPS lost or weak, weak radio signal and hand unit disconnection
• "Model stationary" when your model has landed or come down
• Maximum altitude announced at the top of each climb

SEARCH MODE
Walk straight to a landed model. Every few seconds, the app tells you where the model is as a clock position relative to the way you hold your phone, plus the distance. For example: "Model at 2 o'clock, 120 metres". It also tells you whether you are getting closer or moving away. Search mode uses the last known position, so it keeps guiding you even after the signal is lost.

VOICE ALERTS
The app now talks to you, so you can keep watching your model:

• Mute everything with the new speaker button in the top bar; fine-tune it in Menu > Voice Alerts
SEARCH MODE
Tap the new search button on the map to be guided to a landed model by voice: "Model at 2 o'clock, 120 metres", "Getting closer". It keeps working after the signal is lost.
SPEAK STATUS
A new map button reads out altitude, distance and battery on demand.
IMPROVEMENTS
• A beacon that loses its GPS fix now keeps its last known position instead of jumping off the map
• Signal strength is shown only for the beacon you have selected
• Device Settings now confirms whether the hand unit accepted your changes
• No more "signal lost" alert when opening the app with an old saved beacon
For the best experience, update your FlexiDisplay Yello to firmware v3.3 from Menu > Device Update.
