Thank you for using Facial Movement Recorder! In this update there's a whole load of new features for clinicians and patients. Firstly there are 2 new mask modes, showing just the top or bottom of the mask. Now if you want to concentrate on just the top or bottom of the face without worrying about the other half, you can! Then there's the graph line colours which have been updated so they're consistent with Poses. Buttons at the top of lists have been made more obvious. If you export a lot of recordings, you'll know that the file size soon adds up! To help with that, you can now export a zipped version of the recording, meaning it takes up a lot less space when storing or sending recordings. Last but by no means least, the Thanks section has been updated to reflect all the amazing clinicians, academics, and people with lived experience of facial palsy who have made Facial Movement Recorder what it is today. You can now preview pose values on a single graph from the main screen, including the same edit controls as when normally reviewing poses. You can customise how long the preview covers, and pause it to look at it in more detail. Speaking of poses, you can now create graphs for poses from the "All Data" screen. Just tap the locations you want to monitor in that pose and you can create a graph to review that pose. And on the other side of things, you can now have the camera as a background when using mirror masks. To quote Q "And this, I'm particularly proud of..." you can now mirror the mask so that it copies the movements from one side of the face onto the other. If that's not enough, there are also 6 new masks that are a little friendlier on the eyes when used in a dark environment. Last but by no means least, the Thanks section has been updated to reflect all the amazing clinicians, academics, and people with lived experience of facial palsy who have made Facial Movement Recorder what it is today. Thanks for using Facial Movement Recorder! In this update you can now select from a couple of new mirror modes when using a mask. These modes will completely hide the left or right side of the mask, so you can focus entirely on one side of your face. This was a feature request by someone living with facial palsy. When using a wireframe mask, you'll no longer be able to choose an eye colour, because you wouldn't be able to see it anyway. You may have noticed that when selecting a live value to preview on the main screen it would actually show the value of the opposite side. This has now been fixed and the preview bar will show the correct value.

Thanks for using Facial Movement Recorder! In this update you can now select a background for your avatar. Choose to record in a spa, the grounds of a country estate, or even on a beach if you want to! You can also now use the mirror mode with the avatars, mirroring either side of your own face onto both sides of the avatar. You'll find both of these new features in the Appearance screen when "Avatar" mode is selected. Scroll down the list of avatars to see the options. This update also includes some minor UI tweaks to make your experience even better.

Now you can select a 3D avatar complete with hair and teeth to show you your facial movements without forcing you to confront your appearance if this is something you find uncomfortable. Just tap the "Appearance" button from the main camera screen, then tap "Avatar" and choose from 24 various realistic heads.

Now you can record the 6 poses of the Sunnybrook system sequentially, complete the Sunnybrook form in the app to automatically calculate the Sunnybrook scores, and review the scores over time. The Sunnybrook system works like a Pose, so you can add as many graphs of locations as you like to analyse. The Sunnybrook Facial Grading System was created by Ross, Fradet, & Nedzelski at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto in 1992. The system is free to use. Facial Movement Recorder presents the system as it was designed and has not customised it in any way. Facial Movement Recorder is not associated with the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in any way.

Now if you're not sure what a particular location refers to, you can see for yourself! Also introducing Poses! Now you can create as many 'poses' as you like and assign recordings to them (one pose per recording). Then you can review all of the data from each pose at once! And even specify exactly which facial locations you'd like to analyse using as many different graphs as you like!

You can also now export an optimised version of the CSV of recording data if you don't need as much resolution.
