First off, let me say that I’ve tried almost all of the offline music apps out there and Anywhere is superior in almost every way except one: it doesn’t support all music file types. I was hesitant to give the app 5 stars for this reason but I don’t want to dissuade others from using it because it’s an overall excellent app. Dev: please add the ability to play ogg files (like other music apps in the App Store). I would gladly continue to pay for premium if you did.Response to dev: thanks for responding but please research codecs. Ogg Vorbis is not an old format. It is an open source compressed format and superior to MP3 while matching the quality of Apple’s AAC (M4A). Also, you cannot convert a lossy format like ogg to lossless formats like FLAC or WAV. It goes the other way: FLAC (lossless compression) —> ogg/aac (lossy compression)

Thanks for your thoughtful review and for recognizing the app’s strengths. We’re glad you’re enjoying it overall!Support for additional file formats, including .ogg, is under consideration and on our to-do list, but we can’t guarantee when or if it will be implemented, to be honest. One important thing to understand: the .ogg format is NOT natively supported by iOS, and we rely on Apple’s built-in, highly optimized audio engine. This ensures the best possible performance and battery life on iPhones or any other Apple devices. For example, we will be adding support for the Apple Watch app, which can’t play .ogg files at all. Those would need to be converted in real time to formats like m4a before being transferred to the watch. So on iPhone, .ogg is a battery-draining format - why use something not supported? If you want the smoothest experience, we strongly recommend converting your .ogg files to a format like FLAC or WAV - both are fully supported by iOS and offer excellent sound quality. That path is honestly far better than trying to force support for older, less efficient formats. Thanks again for supporting the app. If you need help with conversion tools or anything else, feel free to reach out via "support@offlinemusicplayer.app"
One slight setback

After spending days trying to find the right media player for my iPhone, this one was the best I’ve used so far. The features alone greatly outshine the others I tried and overall make the experience more worthwhile. I do feel like, however, there needs to be an option to be able to export any songs I imported into the app so I can, lets say, transfer them to a new device in the future and whatnot. Other than that, I have no other complaints and I’d rate the app a 9/10
Developer Response
Thanks for the detailed review!Export is already supported per track — just open a song, tap (…) → Edit Tags → Share to export the original file. You can also use Wi-Fi Sharing: open Import → Wi-Fi and then download your files from a browser on your computer. Currently, downloads are limited to one file at a time, but we plan to improve this in future updates.
One Time Purchase, Imports iTunes
Meta Master 111
No other one time purchase player is this sleek while having a 25 dollar lifetime purchase option AND a solid iTunes library import. It looks substantially nicer than the iTunes player due to balanced shiny reactive animations and color choices that dynamically recolor to match whatever song/album is in focus. The obligatory song-reactive animated bars show by default -take notes iTunes. Consistently will not allow me to add songs from albums I own to playlists, is more likely to fail to add them than add them.Other Issues:Imports playlists and albums successfully, caveat is you must rename the playlists presently. Imports music folders/files successfully. Zip files I wish auto-converted into folders with a tap when I am browsing for a song folder I just downloaded as a zip file from Bandcamp (legally purchased). Doesn’t work with Homepod, Homepod will kick the song off the speakers after about a minute. Sometimes won’t update the art of what song is playing, showing the art for a previous song instead. Does not loop individual tracks as smoothly as iTunes, possibly due to lack of iTunes’ integrated blending of tracks via transitions. Often has issue when adding individual or multiple songs where it won’t let me select them or won’t add them even when it says they are selected, forcing me to try multiple times until it arbitrarily works. Frequently freezes after editing a playlist forcing me to close and reopen the app. Will randomly invert playlists, has a button to invert them back but still annoying. Won’t play a 2-second audio file to completion, cuts it off 1 second early 100% of the time in normal use.Verdict:Looks really good, feels like a premium app. The developer should feel really good about their self. All the other app makers need to figure out it’s lifetime ad-free or nothing for playing purchased music.
Developer Response
Thank you for updating your review and for taking the time to describe everything in detail. We really appreciate both the praise and the specific technical feedback.Several of the issues you mentioned, especially:•songs not reliably adding to playlists•selection not working consistently•freezes after editing playlists•random playlist inversion•short audio file cutting off earlyare not expected behavior and should not be happening consistently. We need to investigate this properly because this sounds device or library specific. Please contact us directly via Settings -> Report a Bug and include:•whether these tracks are from Apple Music or local files•approximate number of songs in your library•if possible, one short sample file that cuts off earlyAbout HomePod: once audio is routed to HomePod, playback is handled by iOS, not by our internal audio engine. We are aware that HomePod routing can behave inconsistently across apps, but we’ll still review it.ZIP auto extraction and smoother single track looping are valid suggestions. We’ll review both.Your verdict means a lot to us. You clearly understand what we’re trying to build, and that’s exactly the direction we’re going. Let’s fix the technical issues properly. Please report via Settings -> Report a Bug so we can resolve this.
Hidden Gem!

I switched from Apple Music and mainly use locally stored music on my phone. I tried so many apps, Doppler, Evermusic, and so many others. None of them checked all my boxes except this Anywhere app! Great music sorting options, metadata editing, easy downloading. I even asked about other features that would be nice and they quickly updated the app with my requests! I don’t think I have even received a response from any other music player app when I asked a question. This is the best! Thanks
Developer Response
Thank you so much for the incredible review! We are absolutely thrilled to hear that Anywhere checks all your boxes for local music playback. Listening to our users and adding requested features is a huge priority for us, and we are so glad we could quickly implement your suggestions. Your feedback truly helps us make the app better for everyone.
