First off, I really appreciate this app. The music suggestions are usually spot on and the app is easy to navigate. I love how accessible the mood playlists are.With that being said, I can't make phone calls in my car while the app is installed. It doesn't matter where my phone call is routing through (car or phone), this app will play music no matter what. If you pause the music, it will just play again, making phone calls impossible. I had to uninstall the app just to finish a call. My one other critique is how larger playlists aren't auto shuffled, and adding to the queue in a larger playlist just shoves the song to the very bottom. For playlists of over 1,000 songs, this isn't intuitive design. Adding songs to the queue is sometimes tough because of the UI -- there's too many options and too small of text, with a giant static space at the top of the screen. I'd love to see the option to swipe a song to add to the top of the queue.

I signed up for the free trial of premium to listen to a specific piece of music, and have nothing but regrets. First, my password wouldn’t work, so I tried using the option to sign in without a password. The app is supposed to send an email sign in link. It took several tries and a couple hours to get it. Then, when I finally got in, the music I signed up to listen to was gone. When I searched for it on the internet, I found the free teaser clips that encouraged me to sign up for premium, but when I logged in, the full recording was nowhere to be found. So then I tried to cancel my subscription. When I tried, I was offered the option of subscribing to premium, but not canceling it. The app told me it would send me an email before my free trial was over, so I thought maybe I had to opt in to continue instead of canceling. I was very unhappy when a week later I was charged for a month of premium. I deleted my account and complained to Deezer. Imagine my surprise when they told me I had another payment coming due even after deleting my account. Apparently, deleting an account does not cancel your subscription, which is crazy. I finally got that straightened out and asked for a refund. They said I didn’t qualify because I didn’t cancel before my “free” trial ran out. Horrible customer service and I paid to listen to music that wasn’t even available a few days after I signed up, except as a teaser.

I started a free trial with Deezer late last year. I quickly lost interest in using the service but I forgot about the terms of the trial. Well a few months passed and now I’ve been charged for two months of service with no usage on my account. I thought for certain that when I explained the situation to a representative, they would consider at least a partial refund. After all, they can see that I haven’t used the service at all for the past few months and that I made a simple mistake in forgetting to cancel the trail. But their customer service is basically designed to screw people like me I guess. I suppose this is technically legal and fine. But it’s also unfair and greedy in that I was charged for something that I didn’t use and that costs Deezer literally nothing to provide. If this is how they do business, by ripping off decent people who just made a simple mistake, then I don’t think they deserve my business or anyone else’s. They don’t even care about music - only money. Otherwise they would just focus on delivering music so well that most people won’t cancel and they would give back money that they didn’t earn in a fair exchange of goods and services. Instead they prey upon people who try their service and don’t like it. What a disgusting, trashy business.

What happppened!!!
I got a free trial to use this app back in August and very quickly realized it doesn’t come close to Apple Music so I deleted the App. Before doing so I made sure to check my subscriptions to make sure my free trial doesn’t turn into a paid one, but I didn’t see anything so I thought I was all good. After months of having the App deleted I find out I’m somehow getting charged for this. I message customer support cause this cheap company doesn’t even have a phone service and they tell me they can’t do anything to refund me. They tell me I should’ve known to go to my Deezer account to cancel my subscription. I’m a college student who has been laid off from work facing a financial nightmare during this pandemic and they simply don’t care. THEY SIMPLY DON’T CARE!! If a company doesn’t show sympathy in a time like this they’re simply MONSTERS. Thank you for taking money from a financially struggling student. Update, I spoke to customer service again after receiving a comment to my review that they care. They only refunded me one month. ONE MONTH! I’m sure they can check my account usage and see I haven’t touched the service since August but they only care enough for one month. Stay away from this MONEY HUNGRY APP, they don’t believe in customer service. I hope the money you stole from me was worth it! It would be nice to be able to speak to a higher up.
