The information on this app is great. Train stations, area maps, etc. But the map screen is really lagging. I have hard time looking around because it takes few seconds to zoom in and zoom out It is also hard to move around within the map due to unresponsiveness to input. If they can fix these issues, this would be a great app. Also I would love to be able to set a starting location and destination, then the app give me what trains to take. It is little hard to know what trains to take sometimes due to the way map is set up. (I would love to see the original Tokyo Subway Map style as a option)

Subway map was OK; a little hard to really plan a route due to the small screen, but that is because the system is so complicated. The station maps were a bit hard to figure out - I never really used them. The neighborhood maps are only good for the most general orientation.

If you're not familiar with GMAPs, then you're in for a treat. These are the kind of maps you really want when you go somewhere to visit -- they don't just lay out the land, but they give you detailed information on pretty much any spot you'd want to go to. The ability to search out things like bars or movie theaters, all without needing a net connection, is simply amazing. The app in its current state definitely has some bugs, but the content itself trumps any inconvenience. Highly recommended.

I just came back from Tokyo and was able to use this app just once: for finding my way out of Shimbashi station. Neighborhood maps are not oriented North, so are useless. No search feature means you have to first know what neighborhood a hotel or attraction is in. Not familiar with all the areas of Tokyo? You're out of luck. The app has great potential, especially since resident on the phone and not reliant on connection, but until it is significantly reworked, it is a high-priced lemon.
