Y’all watch out make sure y’all read the type of data that apps requires to “ WORK PROPERLY “ “ APP FUNCTIONALITY “ user content photos and videos I mean I guess but technically if u want to send video yeah but , even tho you limit access it’s still access all at the beginning when asked to pick out of all pics and videos you want to keep in the app accessible to you whenever feel like it , still scanned and saved all content data or usage analytics ,we can’t be MAD at the WEIRDOS FOR THEY HVE TOLD US THEY weirdly intentionally own your privacy soon as you download in there words By using their service that includes downloading that’s the first service that a service provides, access to it. Hey ima grower not a shower but say can’t feel bad when you realize shame can’t be measured only felt once experienced , so lil d or big weird creep invading other privacy because it doesn’t officially tell you they do see your pic and videos , but for. A FACT CAN AND IF WANTED TO WILL AND COME ON NOW …. like power hasn’t been abused throughout these 2025years .. I can guarantee some shady big creepy stuff be going on behind these data writes you sign away by simply using , even if u download and don’t use it , still or probably might have to start it once but im sure a download is enough to access your device, has to show who and what just installed what . First of, I love Textnow. It works out great because I have an iPad and my family members mostly have phones from different company’s that I can’t message. The app is a bit laggy but it works pretty good. I love how you can change contact icons and themes. But there is one major issue. Recently I’ve been experiencing a bug. I have 2 main contacts, my dad and my best friend. When I go to me and my best friends messages all I see is the background I chose. I can see the text bubbles. The only way I can see what she says is the drop-down notification I get when she texts. I’ve restarted my iPad, checked the app for updates, deleted her contact and re-added her. Nothing showed up. But when I go to my dads contact, everything is there. Also another issue I experience is sending images and messages. My bff used a Samsung, she also uses Messenger Kids. When I try to send her images, it shows up for me but sometimes not for her. And I’ve even gotten messages from her that didn’t show up on her screen. I believe the issue is because we both use 2 different devices and apps. But it would be great if there was a way this could be fixed. Another issue I encountered was the calls. Say I leave the Textnow app, still in a call. Sometimes, after a certain amount of time, the call completely disconnects. I love this app so much and how it gives me the freedom to message others with different devices even with my Apple device. If these bugs would get fixed, this app would be absolutely amazing. - Emma :)

Textnow has met my bending needs. It offers a free version (no credit card to sustain unless/until/if u make a purchase) and an option to upgrade for even more options, if your specific needs require. I prefer Textnow than it’s alternatives and I’ve tried many. Others have you download their app only to blast you with hidden fees or shortchange the options you expect. I never trust an app that corners you into entering your card info while your streaming the free version. TextNow is beneficial when you don’t want to give out your main number in avoidance of spam or pesty callers. It also provides the opportunity to separate your professional and personal calls. I have chosen to lock my number in for a small yearly fee. That’s not necessary, but after years of using the free version I realized I wasn't being played by the app. I felt comfortable enough to enter my information and make this small purchase. you can use the app without securing your number, but you do risk having to change your number if someone swipes it during a time you’re not active for multiple weeks consistently.I can mention plenty more ways to benefit from TextNow and why this app is a great tool but after giving you the comfort to trust them, Ill let you find out how it adapts to your specific needs on your own. I’ve tried all the Lifeline providers and they were awful- ran out of data and even talk and text which is the worst thing is to run out when it’s promised to be unlimited with Lifeline. I think TextNow is a much better option for anyone that would otherwise qualify for Lifeline. Well worth the $3.99 for the SIM card- I received it in less than 2 days, it may have been overnight but I didn’t check my mail until 2 days after I ordered it, was shocked it arrived SUPER FAST! This SIM card for less than $5, which even the brokest person should be able to come across at some point, it’s a worthwhile investment for 5G service without WiFi, it works for everything essential like they say and I have yet to encounter ads actually - i just use it for my backup phone since my iPhone is eSIM only… It’s exactly what I was looking for and what I needed. A one time payment for the SIM and now I have a dedicated number I can use applying for jobs, for college, for family, for anything. I like that the company saw all the reviews of people not being happy that it didn’t work when not connected to WiFi and came up with a solution that was fair & accessible to their client base (low income). Please consider purchasing the SIM card especially for women who rely on a man for their phone service, or anything like broke college students like myself, It’s unlimited free text calls and GPS email banking apps - that’s really all you neeed if you’re away from WiFi anyways.
We did a little fine-tuning this time around to squash some bugs and fix a few crashes. Nothing major, but you might notice things running more smoothly.
