A radio station where the DJ’s play whatever their hearts direction takes them. No ads, no hype, listener supported, from Soul to Reggae to Punk to Jazz to spoken word to Hippie Noise to EDM to Industrial Avant Garde to Cult Favorites to Norwegian Death Metal to Polkas to old Country to the noise your spouse makes when he or she catches you doing your secret thing. Plus the App allows you to access their endless archived shows, post to current show’s chat board where often there is real time DJ interaction. If that’s not enough, they also have alternative live streams available to listen if what is currently playing tightens one’s undies. All that and a spicy aural sandwich,... you have nothing to lose and a cosmic musical universe to gain.!
New update makes downloading a pleasure

I have always been happy with this free app that (essentially) provides a free music service. I am also a donating supporter of the radio station, as everyone should be who downloads this app.How nice that the app’s periodic updates have always provided well needed improvements. I very much appreciated the addition of dark mode a while back, for example. This latest update allows me to download archived shows without forcing the app into the player mode (which required navigating back to the show archive page—a little tedious). This is a tremendous improvement, and I very much appreciate WFMU for continually updating the app.
Well developed app, even better radio

From an app perspective, which this is, it's been very well developed and extremely reliable and well laid-out. I've been using this app to stream this radio station consistently, for more than a few years. I can honestly say this app has crashed only maybe once or twice, and the stream never ever unexpectedly loses its stream for any reason, other than reception issues due to my location. The ability to save shows for later listening is a great idea.Support free form radio, keep these guys and gals on the air, and if you're feelin groovy check out the rock n soul ichiban stream!
Beware the “Friedman”

I’ve listened to this station since 1985. Some not all the djs are real p.o.s. With station manger Ken as the Head p.o.s. A harmless comment will get you banned for life! Across all chat boards. The chat boards I recommend you just stay off of because if you don’t have a degree in music or can’t vomit up countless useless music facts? Then you’ll be totally ignored by these “eliteists” P.o.s. I am genuinely happy to be banned for life. Who wants to be ignored by these people. Music snobs. More like it. For not knowing what John Lennon meant by “Sweat Loretta Fart” they finally got rid of me for good. I’m going back to SOMA radio And StillStream.
