Improvements to accessibility and a few important bug fixes

We have some big changes in this release, especially for our Premium subscribers: • Our Premium offering has been upgraded to provide a better experience showing fewer ads and including access to exclusive journalism. Subscribers will also find bespoke offers & competitions, daily puzzles and more • Access your subscription on the website and/or Android devices, when you log in with the same account you subscribed with. • Plus, we’ve made a good few bug fixes, ensuring your experience is in tip top shape

This release we have been improving a lot of elements behind the scenes, these include bug fixes and updates to exiting features to make sure they continue to run smoothly. We also improved: - Voice Over Mode for our accessibility users in a number of areas, so do let us know how it’s working for you, we always appreciate the feedback. - We also improved some other UI elements around the app to fix a few contrast and accessibility issues we were seeing. Did you ever notice that trying to write a long message in commenting, meant you couldn’t see all your text? Well, that’s also been fixed too. We are working hard on some big updates, so keep an eye out on future releases for more.

This release is mostly maintenance to make sure the app continues to run smoothly, we have also included the following: • A fix for a rare issue that caused a very small percentage of users to be unable to log in • Some general clean up and changes for our iOS26 users to make sure the app continues to work as expected We will have more to share in future releases, so do stay tuned.

In this shiny new release we have, as always, been preparing for future changes and features, but also.. - We have fixed the comment sorting, so you can display the comments in the way you prefer. - We also fixed the area where your write your comment, this text area will now expand to accommodate the length of your comment making it easier for you to see what you have written. - We also improved colour contrast in a number of text areas to help our accessible users.

We have been working through the heat to bring you some meaningful changes and fixes, here are the highlights General Bug Fixes and UI improvements Commenting has received some love with new colour styling and more Fixed a bug where the ‘Breaking’ Label was being show for too long on an article. Some small Accessibility improvements, but there are a lot more impactful changes coming later in the year.

What’s New: We’ve been enhancing the app and are excited to introduce a new Notification Centre feature from where you can see all of your received notifications in one place, manage notification settings, as well as choose particular topics that you want to receive notifications for. Resolved issues: • Performance and UI improvements • Resolved an issue where the app would crash unexpectedly when opened from a rare type of push notification

This is a quick update to fix some little gremlins that have snuck into the code, to keep the app running in tip top fashion. We’ll be back with more soon.

Welcome to a new update that contains some bug fixes, improves overall app stability, and brings some nice performance improvements. In this one we've given you the choice to subscribe to different topics with your push notifications and tidied up the home feeds.

We have mostly been laying the foundations for some new features in this release, however, some of those changes improve the UI in places right now, others will be more transformative when we launch those new features, so stay tuned for a bigger update in future. Of course we also included some bug fixes here too, to keep the app running tip top.

Today’s update is mostly maintenance, but we do have some nice things too. First, we have a UX update for Commenting, we now display in the comments if the commenting conversation is closed, anyone trying to post a comment after it’s closed would not see their post and no feedback as to why. Secondly we have some UI updates sprinkled around the app, these include new icons and better uses of colour. We’ll be back with more in the future release.

We all know how much we like reading the news, but what if you get distracted and you don’t finish an article, and you forgot to save it? Well now that “Doh!” moment is a thing of the past, as today we are introducing ‘Reading History’. Inside the settings tab you will find the My Reading History section and there you will see every article you have read, or begun to read, all nicely organised by days and weeks. This information is also only stored on your device and is never sent to the cloud. We hope this little feature helps you continue to enjoy the news that little bit more.

The update lottery is back with a new release, so what do we have for you this time? This release is… A maintenance release woohoo! We can hear the groans from here, and we are sorry but these things do need to be done. We are laying new foundations that will mean our development pipeline can move faster, which means better and more feature based releases for you. Another bug release and all the fixes are too small for the eye, or too incredibly boring to explain in human speech. Either way, work was carried out, developers fiddled and the app works a bit better.

A bit of a maintenance release, this one. Mostly stuff in the background that needs to be kept updated, all rather dull. Of course, any release wouldn’t be complete without the usual round of improvements and bug fixes, and we have included a bunch in here too. We won’t beat around the bush, this release is all maintenance. Okay, okay, we know we said some cool new stuff was on the way, but we had some rather annoying intermittent bugs that have been affecting a small percentage of our users. Many of those issues should be improved in this release, however we are still working hard on a fix for some performance issues that a certain set of users are experiencing, which we hope to resolve in a future update. We have of course been tinkering in the background to make sure our app is functioning in tip top form, but this update is all about bringing back a highly requested feature. Yes, swiping articles is back! You can now open an article, swipe left and read the next article, or swipe again and again, there is no end to the swiping fun one can have, oh… and we even track your position in the home feed, so when you are done reading, we’ll put you right back in the feed at the last article you looked at, Nice! Stay tuned, as we have much more in the pipeline.

Although, if you do love an account creation process, then we have done some UI/UX work to make those much slicker and those things you can see.
