I use pixiv a lot for finding fanarts or just art in general because you can find all sort of different artists and it’s great. You can use tags but it’ll be cool if your able to use two tags at a time. The app version also seems to be shallow compare to the website version, which in my opinion is better to navigate and has way more stuff but lags alot for me. Rather then getting notifications for when a user goes live it’ll be a cool if there is a notification for when a user post? I’m not sure whenever there’s a feature like this. It’s also really unfair to have to pay to get stuff that shouldn’t be locked in order to pay (see search history, popular art) it’s already available in other art platforms so why must people pay to see those things on pixiv? Other then that I don’t really have a issue with pixiv

The latest update is absolutely crazy. I get needing ad revenue, which was why I was fine with the small ad banner on the bottom that constantly played ads, or the ones that popped up in the search results as you scrolled. I thought it was a good compromise between showing ads and not being too much of a bother for the user experience. The latest update has somehow made it so that after one or two posts you’ve interacted with, you get one of those full screen game ads that makes you play them to get them to end faster. Even if I were to be charitable and say that yeah, you need money, a full screen game ad every other post is horrible and turns me away from the app entirely. This is on top of Pixiv already making basic functionality that every other platform has for free (tag blocking, popular search, etc) only available to premium users. Not sure whose idea it was or how it got approved, but for the love of god, making an app where people are forced to view more ads than the actual content they come to see reeks of greed and bad planning. Please change it back to the original model.

The app itself is serviceable. The UI could be better and there are some features missing from the web version, but it works well enough. The problem is how they push you to use premium which is a subscription for money. Certain features are “premium exclusive” which I could understand if these features weren’t basic quality of life features for most other websites. The most egregious example of this is Tag Muting. You are allowed to mute one tag at a time without premium, preventing any works with that tag from showing on your feed. The issue here is that there are many tags that are generally seen as morally disgusting available that for use, and you are only allowed to have one of these muted at a time unless you pay for premium. A great example of this would be for gore. I personally don’t like to see gore and would keep this tag muted. While I’m browsing, I come across physical abuse, for example, and wish to mute this too. I would be forced to either unmute the gore tag or pay for a subscription service.

This app can be useful to find artist support, artist that you were already following or see new art that could interest you, but the tags that are allowed in created in this app is disgusting, the stuff that is allowed in this app to be described as immoral and disgusting to any one with any regard for animals and children, this app opens up a gateway to a very dangerous group of people, and do not need to be allowed to see this type of art see this type of art created, the artists are good. The community is somewhat OK, but the things that you can accidentally slept too, because he clicked on a general category were some creep who made something in that category is disgusting, that side as he can only block one thing at max, if he say to categories of disgust, you, you have to have a decision to see which one you want to block unless you pay to block more, so please, if you know how to manage disgusting art here and are generally interested in supporting your favorite artist, download this app it’s very useful. It’s just very easy to fall into to disgusting and degenerate categories
