Now with an input picker: use wired headsets, USB interfaces and receivers, or Bluetooth mics, not just the built-in microphone. Your choice sticks.
Mic. turns your iPhone into a real-time audio monitor and recording studio.
Plug in your headphones, pick your microphone, and hear it live with zero-configuration passthrough. Whether you're monitoring a podcast, checking a PA system, recording a voice memo in studio quality, or just need a reliable audio tool — Mic. is ready.
Live Monitoring
Real-time mic passthrough with adjustable input gain and output volume. L/R level meters show your signal at a glance. The input picker lists every microphone your iPhone offers: the built-in mic's stereo and mono patterns, wired headsets, USB interfaces and receivers, and Bluetooth hands-free mics.
Visualizations
See your sound in four modes: Waveform, Spectrogram, Frequency Bars, and Oscilloscope — all rendered in real time with Metal.
Recording
Record in the format you need: WAV, ALAC, AAC, or MP3. Browse, play back, and share your recordings directly from the app.
DSP Effects
Shape your sound with 8 real-time effects and 13 built-in presets. Dial in the perfect tone with per-effect parameter controls.
Designed for Focus
Dark interface. No clutter. Portrait and landscape layouts. Just audio.
Mic. is free to use for live monitoring with waveform visualization. Unlock Mic. Pro for recording, DSP effects, and all visualization modes with a single one-time purchase of $3.99. No subscription.

Couldn’t change input to external mic
Developer Response
Thank you for the feedback, and sorry for the frustration. You are right that 2.0 could not switch to an external mic. Version 2.1, released the same day as your review, adds an input picker: connect your mic, then tap the microphone selector below the level meters to choose it. It lists wired headsets, USB interfaces and receivers, and Bluetooth mics, and remembers your choice. If it still does not show your mic after updating, please email us the mic model from the About page and we will make it work.

PRO: Great for hearing yourself talk on headphones or using it for a microphone on your computer.CON: Can't hear yourself talk like a megaphone without headphones or a stereo jack adapter.
Pick your microphone. Mic. now lists every input your iPhone offers: the built-in mic's patterns, wired headsets, USB audio interfaces and receivers, and Bluetooth hands-free mics. Your choice sticks across restarts. Bluetooth mics carry their own earpiece on iOS, so monitoring follows them; USB receivers with a headphone jack give zero-delay monitoring.
Fixes a crash at launch on some devices, and keeps audio running when a microphone's format changes.
