I am try from last to week to create mashreq bank account but till unable to create 100 time i tried show the som reason “we not able to create account this time” I don’t know the reason, once i was visit to the main branch in Abu Dhabi there told me that try online. Please help me ‘

About 15 years behind the times

Coming from another country (expat living in the UAE) I find Mashreq’s app difficult, cumbersome and best described as very basic, bordering on the primitive. Examples: No search whatsoever - if you want to find a transaction, you’re only option is to browse through your transactions, one by one. No transaction details either - you get a long, impossible to read transaction string that hides the merchant name somewhere in the middle in between a bunch of internal codes and that’s it. Card functionality is 2005 level - you can set the daily limit and that’s it - no virtual cards or any functionality beyond the most badic, nothing one would expect in 2026. UI and UX are primitive. I guess Mashreq never bothered to check out Revolut or any other decent online bank offering because if they did, they would see that Mashreq is light years behind them.

Be wary of this bank and their fraudulent practices

Avoid this bank at all costs. There are much better banks in the UAE that offer much better terms and treat their customers a lot better. Mashreq refuses to cancel my credit card, citing fees that were mentioned nowhere in the app. They claim that these fees are in their terms and conditions on their website, but I never used the website. Currently they're hijacking 25,000 AED while giving 0.15% interest on it (a joke basically) as a collateral for 9,000 AED credit card. If this is not customer deception and theft, I don't know what is. I have moved nearly 1 million AED away from this bank. Banks like Wio will decimate dinosaurs like Mashreq.I'm still unable to get my money back. They're acting as if the account doesn't exist. Keep your money away from this bank.

As the digital bank award winner for 2018 more is expected

The application has descent functionality however 1) performance needs to be improved (it’s slow) 2) user experience needs improvement. The app requires simplification ....it’s over engineering ....the UX team need to keep the client in mind when designing.3) the app keeps on giving me ‘we are sorry there seems to be an error in your request....’ every week after enabling the Face ID. As the digital bank award winner I would expect much more, especially when compared with other banks’ mobile apps. (EmiratesNBD, ADIB)
