MP3 Encoder is a fast, batch MP3 encoder for macOS. Drop in dozens of audio files, pick your encoding settings, and let it run multi-threaded across every CPU core using the high-quality LAME encoder.
HIGHLIGHTS
• Multi-threaded batch MP3 encoding with the LAME encoder. Pick any combination of encoding method, bitrate, algorithm quality, and stereo mode.
• Smart content-based file detection. Audio files with the wrong extension, or no extension at all, import correctly.
• Raw and headerless audio support. Drop a .raw or .pcm file, or a Sound Designer II file whose resource fork has been stripped, and supply sample rate, bit depth, and channel count in a single sheet.
• Source-file tags pass through to the encoded MP3, with cross-format equivalents mapped automatically so metadata carries through the conversion intact.
• Multi-value tag support. Fields like Composer, Artist, and Album Artist that carry multiple values in the source file are joined for display and split back into multiple values on save. A new Multi-Value Separator setting (Settings, Metadata) lets you pick which separator to use.
• Tag editor mode. Update metadata on existing MP3 files without re-encoding.
• Custom output naming. Build output paths and file names from metadata fields like artist, album, and track number.
• Configurable sample-rate conversion (Mastering, Normal, Fast) and bit-depth dithering (TPDF, Noise Shaping) when source audio needs resampling.
• Optional automatic add of encoded MP3s to the Music app.
• Native Apple Silicon support.

Happy to buy a simple program that does what I want.

Thank you for making the program do what I need simply and easily. Making MP# files from FLAC files in only a few minutes. Also, appreceate it just being a simple purchase instead of a subscription or in-app purchase.Happy.
It works!

Just as (nearly) all of the other reviewers say, this app does just what it is advertised to do, and does it simply and quickly. Just what I needed to convert a bunch of lossless M4A files to mp3. However, it doesn't convert m4p (iTunes) files.
Simple and does the job with focus and elegance

This app does a lot of smart things. It's very focused, simple and efficient. It does really cool stuff like allowing you to rename the file using ID3 tag information; choose between overwriting and keeping the original; and it allows you to take a folder that may already have MP3 files in it and only encode the non-MP3 files in that folder. This is awesome.A couple of suggestions for additional features:One is to have the ID3 tag section allow for default settings. For example, I might want to have the year default to always inserting 2011, unless individually inserted, likewise, Genre could always be Podcast or some other setting. These could be set in the preferences section, but then overwritten in the Info section when you go to enter other meta data. In addition to the default settings for ID3 tagging, it would be nice if it presented a list of favorites or recently used data for those fields, along with an easy to clear button in preferences. For example, I may often put Producer1_Name, Producer2_Name, or Producer3_Name in the Artist field. When I start typing one of those names, it should auto-complete with names that have been used before. This could be reset in preferences. These are suggestions that would make the app much better for me, and reduce the need for me to use other apps. However, this app very much does what it says and does it well. If the developer description meets your needs, I highly recommend getting it for the low price that it is.
So far, so good

I like this app; it’s does almost exactly what I need it to do.One thing I think would be handy, though, is the ability to add the item number in the queue to the filename (via Preferences > General > Use A Custom Output File Name Scheme) with a Format Specifier like {QueueNumber}. That way, when dragging a playlist to the queue, the output folder has the tracks are in order (the Metadata usually gets used instead of the filename so that number shouldn’t show up in the title once burned).Other than that, it’s great.
- Now recognizes recovered Sound Designer II files that arrive with a ".sd2f" extension.
- When writing metadata, you're now warned before tagging a queue that mixes MP3 and non-MP3 files, and non-MP3 files are skipped instead of reported as errors.
- Damaged or partially downloaded files now stop with a clear error instead of quietly producing a near-empty file.
- A failed save no longer deletes the existing file at the destination without putting a new one in its place.
- When a save replaces an existing file, the old version now reliably goes to the Trash, even when its name contains spaces.
- Interrupted conversions no longer leave large temporary files behind, and any leftovers from an earlier crash are cleared at the next launch.
- Fixed an issue where certain files could fail to encode on older versions of macOS.
