Version 3.1.1 stays quick with years of trips, and folds each past year into one line. Export any dates you pick, and see your tax year's claim at the top of your log.
Mileage keeps a record of every business trip and works out what you can claim.
Enter the odometer reading at the start and end of each trip, and Mileage does the rest. It works out the distance and the claim, and keeps a running total for your tax or financial year. Readings that follow on from one trip to the next make your log easy to back up if your tax authority or employer ever asks.
KNOW WHAT YOU CAN CLAIM
Your year's total sits at the top of the app, with the distance and trips behind it. Set the rate you're allowed to claim, including a lower rate after a set distance and a rate for each passenger, and choose when your year starts. Miles or kilometres, in your own currency. In the UK, HMRC's approved rates are already built in, including the rates for motorcycles and bicycles. You see what a trip is worth before you save it.
LOG A TRIP IN SECONDS
Save the routes you drive often and they fill in the route, reason and usual distance for you. Keep the places and reasons you use, and they're a tap away. Log the way back with one tap, and Mileage links it to the way out. You can also log a saved journey from the home screen widget or with Siri.

This app does a great job of letting me very simply recording starting and ending odometer readings each day (including notes, etc). While it does separate out each month's trips, it only adds up TOTAL miles adding all months together. They need to add a feature which totals each month's miles to save the step of manually adding each day's miles together at the end of every month.

This one is done. Version 3 totals every month, on screen and in the export, so there is no adding days up by hand at the end of the month.

I’ve used this app for about a year now and really like it. You have a great screen for input because I can enter whatever info I want. When you email the app data, it easily becomes a spreadsheet. At that point, you have a spreadsheet in which you can manipulate the data and create whatever tables or charts you want. Very simple and easy.
Does exactly what I need

I regularly travel out of town for multi day events. This is perfect for manually recording my odometer and adding any important notes about that event such as sales, tips, unusual circumstances, etc. Please make sure this app stays updated because I haven’t found any other that does what I need.

This app is exactly what I was looking for. Something that you can enter in the mileage without having to have it be automatically done. However, the reporting is terrible. No options to see reports for a certain time frame. No totals for the report, in the app it totals all the information but the reports do not. So, This app would be ideal if you had the more options in the reports.

The reporting deserved that. Version 3 totals each month separately, on screen and in the spreadsheet, and the year screen shows the months alongside each other. The claim report PDF adds the totals on one page, ready to hand over, and that one is Premium. The spreadsheet is free.
Much quicker if you've logged trips for years, and a configurable simpler trip screen. Thank you to everyone who wrote in with your feedback.
• Opening the app, saving a trip and opening a month no longer slow down with a long history of trips
• Your odometer readings now come first when you add a trip
• Hide the parts of the trip screen you don't use, such as the route, reason, notes or business and personal, in Settings, Trip screen
• With the route hidden, you can give a trip a simple name instead
• Earlier years are tidied under one heading each, so this year's months are what you see
• Log the return and Save journey wait until a trip has its end reading
• Changing between light and dark now updates Settings straight away
• See a sample claim report before deciding on Premium
