Edited by Professor Giorgio Palestro, Full Professor of Pathological Anatomy and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Turin, the Atlas of Human Anatomy is an essential app for anyone practicing or preparing for a medical or surgical profession, or working in other healthcare professions that require a knowledge of human anatomy, such as nurses, dentists, physical education teachers, physiotherapists and psychologists.
Now, thanks to the free section, everyone can get a taste of this material.
An app as beautiful as a painting by Rembrandt (who painted several anatomy lessons), thanks to the more than 600 remarkable plates it contains.
Alongside the visually striking anatomical illustrations are photographs from the main imaging techniques: X-ray, CT, MRI, angiography and scans that highlight the most important correlations.
The app also includes an extensive glossary, with references to the plates and English and Latin translations of each of its more than 3,000 terms. An essential feature for anyone who needs to use this terminology correctly with international colleagues or at international conferences and meetings.
You can annotate each plate, open it in Apple Books for unlimited zoom, save it to your favorites to find it instantly next time, and/or send it by email to colleagues to discuss specific topics.
A powerful search engine lets you find a specific plate across the thousands of glossary words, starting even from a simple lexical clue. This is a key feature and one of the app's greatest advantages over the printed edition.
Please note: the anatomical content and plate labels are in Italian; section and chart titles are translated into English, and the glossary provides English and Latin terms.
