I watch/ listen to Volle Kanne every morning as I get ready for my day. It is very informative, and, as an American, it gives me insights into current events and trends in Germany. As a former German teacher who has been retired for 15 years now, it also is an exercise in listening ( ein Hörverständnis) to modern spoken German using current vocabulary and idioms ( with a surprising amount of American English vocabulary and idioms thrown in!! ). It keeps my “ German ears” in tune! I especially enjoy Anja Koenzen’s gardening segments. I have learned a lot from and have been inspired by her expert advise. I wish there were subtitles when she names various plant species so I could find their equivalents here. I also enjoy all of the cooking segments with Mario Kotaska, Cynthia Barcomi, Armin Rossmeyer and all the others. They too have inspired me and they make me hungry! The cooks are also a lot of fun!The segments with Dr. Christoph Specht are very informative and give me the German/ European views on medicine.“Besserwisser” is another great segment and I enjoy trying to guess the correct answer. I enjoy the travel segments, especially those within Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. But, of course, the show just wouldn’t be the same without the fabulous hosts Florian and Nadine and also Andrea and Carsten

By now you obviously realize that Germans living abroad access your Mediathek, so why place so many programs under restricted view??? Just get with the 21st century please and allow access so we are not made to use various other means to access anyway which can be a hit or miss situation. Thank you and very much appreciated!

I mean it too. ZDF has had the best in krimi series (Bella Block alone speaks to that!), films, comedy, talk & quizz shows, documentaries & the occasional classical concert. The actors are wonderful too. My only complaint is that because I live in France, I can't get some of your best documentary films, nor ZDF Live. Whereas, I can now, suddenly get ARD Live as well as video's to play & replay. So I have to wait to visit Germany, which I do for 2 long stays per year, at Christmas & during the summer. And I'm glad I do! Germany is a warm & open country, in general, & the people have a great sense of humour. What would a country be without that?
ZDFmediathek app lacks proper buffering support

I like to watch German TV. However, on narrow bandwidth connections for example when traveling there is no decent buffering, making for a disruptive viewing experience. Memory is no longer a problem on most devices. App could also check, etc. so that after some wait with well-designed progress info there is a fully enjoyable experience. I rather wait a longer time at the beginning than have to wait many shorter times in mid sentence or have a frozen or black image with only sound etc. Please have your app designers test under real world conditions. Thank you.
