I’ve been a loyal member of the Credit Union for over 34 years, but over the past few years I’ve become increasingly disappointed with the direction things have gone.The cost of maintaining my accounts has become excessive. Between overdraft fees, monthly service fees, annual fees, and other checking account charges, I’m paying what amounts to thousands of dollars just to keep my accounts open and active. It no longer feels like the Credit Union values long-time members.Unfortunately, customer service has also declined significantly. It has become very difficult to speak with someone who has the time or authority to help resolve concerns, leaving members feeling unheard and unsupported.As a working individual, I expect fair service and reasonable fees from a financial institution I’ve trusted for decades. Instead, I’m now seriously considering moving my checking and savings accounts elsewhere.I never expected to feel this way after more than three decades as a member, but I believe the Credit Union needs to take a hard look at how it is treating its long-time members. I’m very disappointed with my overall experience.

We had refinanced our home and thought all was well. We were a payment ahead and I began sending a few hundred dollars randomly to knock down the principal which I had done at Frost with no problem. I later looked closely and discovered my extra random payments were applied to the interest and not the principal when I was already a payment ahead! I complained and my next three payments were completely applied to the interest… 100% went to the interest and not one dime to my principal. They were going to teach me not to complain. I went to another bank, secured financing in one day, and paid off my loan at a branch office in full. The San Antonio office didn’t like it, said I couldn’t do it, but I had my receipt that said paid in full. I don’t think the credit union folks are really HEB but some institution who negotiated a deal for the name.

App load times not very goodFriday-Sunday no description of purchasesThey don’t know much about zelle I have a problem as I changed my number and the app wants to text my old number to verify, called for help which you can never get the same day or on weekends and got an it’s new I’ll call you back with an answer that I never got. I’m still waiting by the way!The answering service is useless they can’t help you with a lot of issues.I only continue to endure them because I’m too lazy to go somewhere else and set up a new account. But that day is surely coming! The only benefit I see is if you need your mo eu faster, you usually get your check deposited Wednesday evenings. Save yourself a headache bank somewhere else.
