Ignore the fact this is rated 5 stars, I’d give it 0 if I could; it’s only like that so it gets more eyes. They wanna be scummy, so I’ll play the game right back. Here’s what I really think. Hey, I’m a 24 year old, generally good looking man. I joined eHarmony after multiple recommendations from friends and family, and got a few likes and matches after I took the personality test but before I bought a subscription… you’re not allowed to communicate with MATCHES if you don’t have a subscription, so I got one. That led to a 6 month dry spell where the number of likes and matches combined could be counted on one hand. Not to mention the profiles who say ‘New Here’ then NEVER get online again, or the profiles without photos, even though I was required to have them. Anyway, after my 6 month subscription was over, the literal next day; my inbox was FLOODED with likes and messages, who all just conveniently unmatched or blocked me within an hour. So I decided to try something. I waited a few days, watching tons of matches come and go, then I finally bought another membership… suddenly, the messages all stopped. This business used to be good, I know it was. Multiple people I knew met their spouse here. Sad to see it’s now just a scummy money grab that’s no better than Tinder. My advice? Go to a bar, you’re better off there than wasting your money, time, and self respect on this absolute dumpster fire of an overpriced, unethical, corporate money grab of an app. Nuff said?

I was quite skeptical at first having used other dating apps that this one would be any better. But based on recommendations I thought maybe I would find some like minded individuals on here that were serious about finding a real match and not just a Friday night date. One week after being on the app a man with no picture but a wonderful profile and match score reached out to me. He sent me photos and encouraged me to Google his full name. I’m telling you, don’t overlook those pictureless profiles. There are some hidden gems just concerned for their privacy. We clicked like no man I’ve ever connected with before. Our high match score was very accurate to our personalities and communication style. It just felt so comfortable from day one. I’m definitely convinced eHarmony’s algorithm works! I have several happily married friends who met through eHarmony so I’m very glad I listened to them and paid the extra investment to meet someone of character and quality that checks all the boxes of who I’ve been searching for. It’s format is so very easy to use, has some great questions that elicit personality and interests and makes for a very user friendly experience. The only thing I wish it had an easier way to delete your account. It took a lot of emails to customer service. Maybe just give subscribers a delete button with an Are you sure? Prompt. Otherwise totally happy!!

While a fine app, I purchased the year subscription and charged it to the wrong card. I submitted a refund within the 3 day period eharmony states is available, but it was denied. 250 dollars too! Apple and eharmony need to get it together! Screwing people out of 250 dollars is a bad business model. Eharmony if you are listening, tell Apple to get it together. As for the app, it works pretty well. The “personality analysis” or whatever is a little weird though… you answer a lot of questions and stuff and I see where they’re coming from in terms of evaluating you but sometimes it “suggested” I try to do different things in how I act as if it knows how I act in real life. Some questions it would have a multiple choice list and multiple answers would fit me, but it would only let me choose one. After you did the questions it gave feedback acting as if it knew more about me than I knew about me. I think they need to change their multiple choice system to allow more freedom to answer questions. Some of those with like 8 choices I would fit three or four but it only allowed one answer so I just had to randomly pick one. Also if you wanted to filter by distance, it would show you people in that range, but people from way outside your range (as in hundreds of miles away when your filter would be like 20) could contact you. If I wanted to talk to people that far away, I would have set it to that but I would get contacted by people who I wasn’t even close to.

This was the 2nd time trying Eharmony after being divorced for 20 plus years. The first time was a good experience but didn’t find the Mr. Right but that is probably because I didn’t utilize it long enough or just maybe God had other plans. This past February after getting frustrated about dating again and about to give up I signed up with Eharmony second time. Within the third week I just wasn’t feeling it and didn’t see anyone who clicked for me and I was ready to give up so I logged off for a few days. Then I thought to myself, R.... you signed up for six months and you need to give it a little more time so I logged back on and found T.... within a few minutes. After reading his profile and looking at his pictures, I was intrigued so I sent him a smile. Within a few hours he was smiling back at me. We chatted through E for a few days. After learning that he loved God as much as I did and how easy it was to chat with him, we decided to meet in person the following weekend. That first date we both knew this was going somewhere. We spent the next day together after going to church. Three months in and we knew we were going to get married. We plan to wed in October. True love and the right person is out there. Don’t give up.
