This free app comes with about 20 techniques and 50 terms. For a limited time there is a special openings sale for the upgrade to 200 techniques and 500 terms! Aikido is a traditional Japanese martial art created by Morihei Ueshiba (O-Sensei) in the early 20th century. As the physical practice of philosophical principles developed by O-Sensei, Aikido strives for the ultimate goal of peaceful resolution rather than defeat. Composed of three Japanese characters: Ai, meaning harmony; Ki, spirit or energy; and Do, the path or the way, the word Aikido thus signifies the "Way of Unifying Life Energy". In this regard, O-Sensei created a martial art in which the preservation of one’s attacker is equally important as one’s own self defense. Aikido Techniques is an app that offers a wide range of techniques, vocabulary and info for the beginning, intermediate and advanced aikido practitioner. Aikido Techniques is available for iPhone, iPad and iPod and offers close to 200 techniques through a searchable and categorized database. Every single techniques is explained step by step through high resolution, full color photography. The app contains a glossary containing close to 500 vocabulary words, searchable and cross-connected. The info pages in the app are a portal to beautiful styled wikipedia pages, bringing you in contact with the full extent of knowledge about aikido. You are offered a technique of the day through the homepage and you can create your own favorites list. You can also share all techniques outside of the app with your friends on Facebook.
