Quickly rename multiple files/folders at once, formatting names by adding, removing, replacing text, and by numbering. It can be particularly useful at removing 'junk' from the names of downloaded files (like music files) giving them better, more readable, names.

The application shows a live preview of the changes you make in real time, without actually renaming the files. Once renamed, if you are not happy with your changes, you can press the "Undo" button to restore the original filenames (this is session-based only, so you cannot 'undo' after you close and restart the program).
You can load and save the renaming options, allowing you to keep different profiles for renaming. When you start the application, your last used set of options are loaded automatically.

This app works fine for me. I use it a lot in a pinch. Not sure why it's got 1.0 ratings as I've never had it crash on me once. Been using it a few years now.

I just renamed 101 files taking out spaces and special characters. Worked perfectly.I have used many batch file name editors. The one I like no longer works with OS X. Important to me, the interface is clear, with all choices on the main screen. Be careful to uncheck your previous action or it will be repeated.

I bought this app awhile ago hoping it would be a suitable counterpart to Bulk Rename on the WIndows platform. Not only is the layout of the app terrible, any semblence of a user manual non-existent, but the darn app doesnt even work. I have tried most all options, and it simply refuses to work at all. I wanted to truncate a file name. It previewed just fine, but then all the rename operations errored out. At least it is telling you it doesnt work… previous versions would not even do that. They would just sit there and do nothing when you clicked the button.Worse than that, the developer is wholly uninterested in providing any level of support. I emailed him to see if I was doing something wrong or if there was a known bug. I got a "go away, you are too stupid to use this app" response. When I responded trying to give more detail, I got no response. And of course… no refunds. If this is the way that the system works (the app store) then they really need to do more screening to make sure apps work as advertised.PS: It does generate an error log file… which is about as useful for diagnosing issues or user error as a roll of toilet paper. Why bother?
