I have literally tried every flashlight app and night light app available trying to find one that would allow me to set the screen to red so that I could use the light in the theater without distracting those around me. Finally, my search is over! JLight is the app I’ve been searching for! While you can use the phone flash if you choose, this app allows you to set the screen to any color you want and lock it so that when you open the app all you get is that screen color with no ads. Fantastic! The only flaw is that the screen strobes/pulses slightly until you tap the screen. Minor inconvenience for all the benefits, but allowing the user to disable the strobe effect would move this to a five-star perfect app!

I’ve had this app now for about a month and I like the fact that it gives you a big red screen which I use when I am out walking at night and it turns dark I can use my phone as a Way to signal cars or bikers to my presence. I also like the other screen which is totally white.Great product and I’ve had no problems on an iPhone 11.

I use this basic flashlight almost once every day (at least). When I grab my iPhone X, at the most convenient spot (lower left corner), I’m almost always ensured the light will disappear...until I move my hand. Unknowingly, the screen frequently flips a to full screen light or menu showing options (remove ads, etc). When this happens, I must go to settings to reset the brightness. It’s the same with the percentage of light. I didn’t change it to 15%. THE worst, function, however, is the strobe light!!!I understand it can be useful, in an emergency. But, I can’t say how many times I’ve been blinded as a result!The main reason I’m not removing this app is it’s simple to use. Also, none of these issues occur when I use the flashlight on locked screen.

This app makes zero sense - it automatically opens with the light on the brightest possible setting, not discreet at all. I was looking for a red light flashlight app I could use when I went into my kiddos’ rooms at night without waking them, and this is definitely not it. It also turns up the screen brightness on the phone to the fullest setting automatically, so every time I open the app I have to then remember to turn that down or it drains the battery faster, too. Tried the user manual but can’t decipher it since it’s a series of line drawings worse than an IKEA manual. Deleting, I’ll take my chances in the dark rather than open this app again.
