World Tour is here, and it's the new heart of the app: one journey around the globe, played one stage at a time. Pick a continent on the world map, take on a short round of countries, capitals, landmarks and mountains, and watch the map light up behind you as you travel. Every level is scored on speed and accuracy — a flawless run earns three stars — and the next stop is never more than a few minutes away. Along the way you'll now see photos of the places you're guessing, the colored map has become the default, and the whole app got fresh artwork and a new set of buttons. iPad finally gets a proper layout in every orientation, too. Two new games land in this update. In Match Point, you tap every country on the map that matches the clue — wrong taps cost a life, so look before you leap. In The Link, it's the other way around: a handful of countries lights up and you figure out what they have in common. Your daily streak also got a proper home: a badge on the Home screen shows at a glance whether you've played today, a shield covers one missed day, and there are milestones to collect along the way, little celebrations included. To top it off, the whole app got fresh new artwork. Have fun!

Say hello to Border Hop, a brand-new way to play: start in one country and travel the world one shared border at a time, hopping from neighbor to neighbor until you reach your goal. It's part geography, part puzzle, and surprisingly hard to put down. I also gave the rest of the app a round of polish and squashed a good handful of bugs along the way.

Maintenance update: I fixed an issue on iPad where Apple Pencil taps on the map weren't always registering, brought back the Show Pins toggle for city, capital, and sights categories, and unblocked a few learn-mode levels that wouldn't accept the last answer. If you were stuck on a level before, it'll clear itself up the next time you open the app — no need to do anything.

A friendly round of polish across the whole map. When your guesses end up in the same neighborhood, the results map now zooms in so you can see how close (or how heroically wrong) you all were. Annotations sit a bit more boldly on the map, and we tightened up their spacing so things feel less cluttered. Online games got plenty of love too — most notably, no more sneaky auto-advance after submitting an answer in Rounds — and a handful of stubborn quirks around highlights and tiles have been put to rest. Meet repetition mode — a smart way to keep what you've learned fresh, with little reminders so you don't forget the tricky places. Online matches also got a tune-up: smoother joins, fewer hiccups, and rounds that no longer get lost along the way.
