Just what I was looking for! No need to open Photoshop to manually blur your desktop background - you can do it interactively with Desktop Blurrifier. You can even scale and position the image to your liking (works perfectly, even on portrait displays). There are options to even adjust the saturation, exposure and even tint (via the colorize option). After adjusting your desktop images to your liking (via a live preview) you simply click the "Save and Set Desktop" button and the newly blurred images will be written out to the folder of your choice. Why blurry desktops? First and foremost, it makes finding your icons even easier because now they "pop" against the background. This works great, particularly when your background image is very detailed or busy. $5 seems like a fair price. Highly recommended.
