The elevation profile for hikes and routes now shows the gradient along the route, making it easier to see where the steepest sections are. You can also see selected cabins and points of interest along the route in the elevation profile. We're testing push notifications that let you know when you're near a cabin or a point of interest where you can "check in" with SjekkUT, even when the app is closed. You need to enable these notifications in the app yourself. Please note that this feature is still in beta, so some notifications may not appear.

New difficulty rating! We’ve made it even easier to find hikes that are suitable for people with reduced mobility, families with strollers, and others who need mobility-friendly trails. These hikes now have their own colour (purple), icon, and a new “Mobility-friendly” rating.

Worried about a cold autumn? Find warmth and good company in a sauna! In collaboration with The Norwegian Sauna Society, the UT app now features hundreds of publicly accessible saunas across Norway.

What we care about, we also need to protect! In Norway, we have more than 3,000 protected areas of all sizes—natural environments that are important for preserving species, habitats, and landscapes. That's why we've made it a little clearer whether the hike you're planning takes place in a protected area, and what you need to keep in mind when visiting one. Have a great trip!
