“A great list app that comes with iCloud sync, has a splendid interface and design, and actually make you want to use lists” —Christine Chan, AppAdvice.com
“Great, beautiful new list app ... the developer of Ita has, in fact, a very nice mohawk.” —John Gruber, DaringFireball.net
more As a major lister I love this app. While having great features and an easy to use interface, it’s beauty is in its simplicity and not being overly ambitious for what it is. Having said that (and the reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5) is that I make lots of long lists and need the ability to reference them with a search function. If this app has a search function I couldn’t find it in the instructions or figure out how to use it. Still very pleased and appreciate it though, especially since it’s a small dev and a free app (though I’ll give you $4.99 if you add a search function, Lol)

I love Ita for its simplicity, and have been using it for years. That doesn't happen with every app. There is still a slight glitch, it seems lessened with my update to IOS9, but still there on and off. When I try to input an item, especially one with more words, it frequently disappears while I'm still writing, making me start over. Then it does it again, then again. I finally give up and write it in Notes, then cut and paste into Ita. I have an iPhone 5. I hope you fix it, because I want to use Ita for the rest of my days. :)

I started using this app about a year ago when the app i was using previously for a simple list program failed to update. ITA was the perfect solution, with a better interface. Only one function is missing- the ability to transfer items from one list to another. Please include this feature in your next update!!

I have used this app for a long time. It is the easiest to use. I use it mainly for grocery shopping and I don't like the others out there. It has one problem. I've dealt with this starting several updates ago. Not sure if it is Apples or the apps itself. I go to type something in and suddenly the keyboard goes away and what ever I was typing is gone and I have to start over. I really wish the developers would fix this. I see several people have the same issue but I assume they don't read reviews of their own apps.

We're now using Core Data over CloudKit — a much better and more modern way of saving lists than what we were doing before. We've done a lot of testing to make this is a seamless transition.

We fixed some bugs and added some code to keep Ita working with newer phones.
2.1 Sep 30
Hi, we're back! Ita now works on modern iOS devices. We also fixed some bugs that have been nagging our users. Happy 2020. We're making lists of people we want to hug when all this is over.
2.0.2020 04/24/2020
Hi there!
We fixed some bugs, including a crash that could happen when sharing a list with someone else.
Love,
Your friends at Nice Mohawk
2.0.4 07/15/2015
We fixed a bug! For real this time. This one fixes a bug from 2.0.1 and restores data that may have been temporary misplaced in 2.0.2.
What a nightmare. All fixed now. Love, Nice Mohawk
(Also we work on big phones now.)
2.0.3 01/15/2015
We had a very bad bug. We fixed it, and present this fix with sincere apologies.
If you have a big iPhone you will also like this update.
2.0.2 01/13/2015
This release of Ita fixes some bugs that caused crashes in Ita 2.0. We apologize for those bugs. If new bugs arise, rest assured that they too will be fixed.
Thanks to all our customers, new and old, for all the feedback on Ita 2.0! We’re grateful for all our customers, and we’ve got more great updates planned.
And for those of you seeing Ita for the first time, the release notes for 2.0:
Hi. We're happy to announce Ita 2.0!
For 2.0, we’ve completely redesigned Ita. Even the icon is new. We’ve also added some new features that we’re excited about. For example: tapping list items while editing switches editing focus, making it possible to edit multiple items in quick succession. We’ve moved Ita’s settings into the app (tap the atom symbol in the top left) to make it easier to access and change your settings. Ita 2.0 also improves its support for accessibility features and adds translations of the app into Traditional Chinese and Modern Greek.
We couldn’t be happier with the customers, testers, localizers, and developers that have helped us make Ita a success. Thank you all. We hope you like this version of Ita — we think it’s the best version yet.

Friends,
This update eliminates a bug which, in a previous version of the app, caused crashes for some users. We dislike those sorts of bugs intensely, even more so than we dislike all bugs generally. For its inadvertent inclusion in the app, we apologize. For your support and use of the app, we give many thanks. We have, it's safe to say, more ambitious updates planned, but for the time being, enjoy this one in the hopes of a crash-free new year.
1.4.2 01/16/2014
Hello, friends. Sorry for our long absence — we've been working on new stuff.
This release includes various bug fixes for Ita on iOS 7. It also provides future-proof compatibility for some changes we've got planned.
1.4.1 01/08/2014
We're glad to report that version 1.4 of Ita is now ready. It's been a few months since we've shipped an update—that's because we've been making some big changes under the hood. In addition to the invisible, secret changes (that make Ita more reliable and stable), we've made some visible, unsecret changes as well:
› Faster startup time when using iCloud.
› iCloud improvements: Ita will remain synced even if you're using Ita on two devices at the same time. Lists, items, and list and item order will remain synced more reliably.
› Shared lists now use Markdown-style bullets.
› Fix for a list sharing bug that affected lists with items containing &, =, and other special characters.
› Fix for some typos in the French localization.
› Fix for adding new items bug.
› Animation improvements
We hope you’re enjoying making lists with Ita. Please direct questions, comments, and support requests to support@nicemohawk.com, or find us on Twitter as @nicemohawk.
1.4 07/18/2013
In this version, we have a fixed a bug relating to sharing lists via email. Adding new lists through email or by copying and pasting items works a bit better now. If you email a list to other Ita users, they can add that list back into Ita.
We've also made a change so that pasting a few items that use leading -, *, or x characters will automatically remove the leading characters and, for items with an x, mark the list item completed.
Many thanks, as always, to our customers.
1.3.1 01/12/2013
Friends, it is with great joy in our hearts that we present these notes of release for Ita, being version 1.3 of its kind. We have improved Ita further in order that it might be better. And we offer these improvements to you.
Features which we have added include:
› Support for the smartest quotes and apostrophes, which will be created for you, with profound magic
› For your app settings, saving to and syncing over The iCloud
› Faster selection when arranging lists or items, increasing the speed of your list-making
› Localization in the great language of German, which we are not fluent in
› After moving an item, the delay before the list is selectable has been shortened considerably.
And we have fixed these many bugs which we hope you never noticed, but which bothered us immensely, because we find them disgusting:
› List orders will now be saved even if not using iCloud syncing
› List deletion is now animated in a more pleasing way
› Long numbers will no longer appear as URLs
› URLs that break a line will animate properly
› Advances to the new list creation animation on iPhone
› iPhone toolbars are now transparent and look even better
› After entering item text, the text will no longer move one pixel on retina displays upon the tapping of the button marked “Done”
› Detected URLs can now be selected and pulsed more consistently, accurately, and (dare we say) beautifully
› Returning to the list view on iPhone after entering item text now saves that item
› Pasting multiple items, then scrolling, will no long crash the app
› Localization fixes for the Spanish and French languages, in which we are not fluent
› We have vanquished a crash which happened only when a list had zero items.
We have done these things for you because we want you to have lists. Many thanks. May your days be plentiful and your lists completed.
1.3 12/20/2012
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Thank you for using Ita. We have improvements to give you, which we think will make your list-making even more spectacular.
First, for those of you who speak, or wish to speak, Norwegian, we present full Norwegian support. Ita now supports English, Spanish, French, Chinese, and Norwegian. If you speak a language you wish Ita to speak, drop us a line at @nicemohawk on Twitter.
We have also fixed some bugs. Once again, when you create a new list, you'll automatically start adding new items to that list without having to trouble yourself to press the + button. We've also made a few visual tweaks to make things look and act better.
We have lots more in store for the fall, so stay tuned. Or you can do other things, and we'll put the new version in your App Store automatically. As always, you can reach us at support@nicemohawk.com, and you can rate Ita on the App Store.
1.2.1 10/09/2012
In this version of Ita, version 1.2, the biggest thing to happen to Ita since Ita, we have endeavored to improve the app in numerous ways, particularly by adding the following new features and bug fixes:
› Full support for iOS 6, iPhone 5, and the new iPod Touch.
› Language support for Simplified Chinese, French and Spanish. Along with initial support for Norwegian.
› In iOS 6, Ita can now share lists to Facebook, Weibo, Mail, and the clipboard.
› URL support: press and hold an item containing a URL to copy or open the link.
› User interface improvements, including refined shadows and backgrounds.
› A fix for a bug wherein the modified date could fail to update itself when lists were stored locally.
› Fixes for some bugs relating to renaming lists.
› Other bug fixes which should improve Ita's reliability and speed.
We hope you’re enjoying using Ita as much as we are. Please direct questions, comments, and support requests to support@nicemohawk.com, or find us on Twitter as @nicemohawk.
1.2 09/20/2012
It is summertime, and in addition to running through the fields full of flowers, we have been toiling to improve Ita, and so we offer the fruits of those labors: a new Release, numbered 1.1 of its kind, and accompanying Notes, explaining the features added herein—which features include:
› Support for an app called Launch Center Pro, providing shortcuts for opening a list, creating a new list with items, and appending the contents of the clipboard to a list.
› The ability to restore all completed items in a list, thereby returning them to uncompleted status. This feature makes it easier to re-use a list; for example, you may have eaten all the food in your house and want to reset your grocery list. To keep this feature from muddling up Ita for everyone, it's optional—turn it on in Settings.
› An easier way to share lists to other Ita users. Lists shared by Emailing now include a link that will automatically add the shared list to The App.
› New animations, being both smoother and faster than those they replaced.
› The fix for a bug wherein modified dates would fail to update when locally-stored lists were modified.
› Other bug fixes, which will remain unnamed so as to avoid encouraging imitators, but which improve the stability of The App.
› Improvements to our support of VoiceOver, Apple's screen reader, including: better button names, less-woefully-poor reporting of list modification times, and the labeling of some elements not previously labeled.
Once again, we thank you, our delightful customers, for your suggestions, criticisms, and encouragement. We can be reached at support@nicemohawk.com and on twitter as @nicemohawk. If you enjoy The App, the simplest way to help us find new customers is by rating Ita in the App Store, then telling strangers you pass in the streets about how much you like making lists with Ita.

1.1 08/08/2012
By way of announcing Ita 1.0.2, the best release of Ita yet, we present these Notes of Release, an accounting of what we have done with our time.
› We have stopped with our hands a horrific crash that happened on only a few devices, but which caused Ita to crash on those devices frequently and prodigiously.
› We have fixed a bug wherein the text field could be cleared if it were scrolled offscreen.
› We have not added any checkmarks into the app.
› We have endeavored to make other changes to improve the stability and usefulness of The App.
—Your developers at Nice Mohawk.
1.0.2 07/02/2012
1.0.1 adds these improvements to our already pretty good app:
› Added the ability to paste multi-line text into Ita after tapping the plus button. Each line will turn into a separate item.
› Fixed a crasher on iPad that could occur when you dismissed the keyboard while entering new items.
› Fixed a crasher on iPad that could occur when trying to add a new list while simultaneously rearranging a list item.
› Fixed a crasher on iPad that could occur when trying to rearrange lists while simultaneously rearranging a list item.
› Fixed a crasher on iPad that could occur when trying to edit an item and add an item at the same time. In other words, if you use two hands and press different buttons simultaneously, you could make weird things happen.
› Fixed a bug that prevented some users on early versions of iOS 5.0 from opening the edit/delete tray.
› Fixed a graphical glitch that could happen while rearranging lists while using VoiceOver. Well, actually, it happened every time you rearranged lists while using VoiceOver.
› Fixed a glitch where the delete button could become misaligned.
› Fixed some other minor bugs which we won't mention by name to discourage imitators.
We've got lots more planned, so stay tuned. In the meantime, update and enjoy.
